Fun fact: The MV for Girls Generation's "I Got A Boy" was produced by Zanybros the same company that is now representing the new Kpop soloist AleXa. In 2013 this video topped the charts and it beat American MVs by Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, etc. for video of the year at the RU-vid video awards. SNSD are queens for a reason. :D This was the era when Kpop songs were created to give an equal amount of lines to every member. So, because SNSD has 9 members this song is longer than a lot of Kpop songs, which gives them time to do a lot of different things in the song. ;P Switching up the beat in Kpop songs is just kind of part of what makes Kpop unique. Case in point, in "I Got a Boy" Jessica literally says, "Lets bring it back to 1-40" which is a reference to switching up the tempo -- changing it from that slower ballad section and bringing the song back to the faster beat. "I Got a Boy" is structured the same way as BigBang's "Bang Bang Bang," but "Bang Bang Bang" came out in 2015, 2 years later. Girls Generation debuted in 2007 so this year is their 14th anniversary. As you have discovered, they are known as one of the most visually stunning girl groups with some of the best vocals and dancers in the industry. As an SM Entertainment group it is, once again, no surprise that they are such great singers and dancers. That is just what you should expect from SM Entertainment groups. :D As you may know, they are still an active group, however, Jessica Jung left the group in 2014. So they are now an 8 member group. Then, in 2017, 3 of the members left SM Entertainment -- Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Sohyun. But all 3 have said they have not left SNSD and would like to still collaborate with the group in the future. All 3 are now working on their solo career. Their newest as a full group (ot8) is Holiday and All Night. From ot5, it's Lil Touch. The group is still together and has NOT disbanded. They are legendary and only lost one member back in 2014 due to controversial issue between the company and her, which was a sad day for fans but even worse for the girls because they had a strong bond with Jessica. Also, Taeyeon (the solo artist who sang Weekend) is in this girl group I recommend checking their debut Into the New World. One of these days I want to see a reactor start off SNSD reactions by watching Kissing You and You Think in back to back reactions and see how much their heads spin.

They are celebrating their 14th year anniversary this year, basically they are on hiatus but all the members are focusing on individual activities. Their last comeback was in 2017 all night and holiday. They have a lot of hits song, various concepts

The pink bedroom opening was just that - an opening, in a motif shared with other video releases from the IGAB album ("Dancing Queen" for one). MV's from top-of-the-line groups often include openings like this, that are not actually part of the song as it appears on the album.

"I Got a Boy" was such a cool and refreshing song for GG to release. Many people were surprised to see them performing a hip-hop dance style, but according to the girls they had initially trained for that kind of dance style during early pre-debut/debut days (I believe). They were really happy to dance that style again. Unfortunately, Girls Generation went on indefinite hiatus in 2017 as a few of the members decided to not renew their contract with SM Entertainment (SME). Jessica also was removed from the group in 2014 (a year after this MVs release) due to a controversial personal conflict of interest with SME. Members are currently focusing on individual solo careers at this time. I believe their last song released was "Holiday Nights" in 2017, just before their hiatus. I strongly recommend going back and checking out their older works for reactions as they have many iconic songs to choose from.
