Girls Und Panzer's Clever & Efficient Worldbuilding 

GuP is chad for being damn near perfect, but it's Gigachad for one other thing - it saved the BT-42 from getting scrapped.

Participants rarely are injured by PzGr impacting them or machine gun rounds striking them, but unless a teammate rescues them, they can drown. So Sensha-dō isn’t completely safe.

Part of the reason GuP's worldbuilding is so good is that the creators really *did* do all the detailed worldbuilding that trips up so many other properties, either by slowing the plot to a crawl with infodumps, or by not being done and details obviously being pulled out of the creator's ass as needed--and then they pared it down massively to incorporate, into the show, only the parts of it that were needed, while the rest would only come out in supplemental materials. For example, there's a complete set of rules for Sensha-Dou... but because the details of those rules don't actually matter most of the time, only the critical stuff gets mentioned in the main materials. However, the full rules *were* published in supplemental books in Japan, so those of us who are autistic enough to actually care about them *can* dig them up and read those details... and the creators know the rules so that they can keep them internally consistent, too. You get the best of both worlds, a property where the nitty-gritty details were worked out, but they don't try and bombard you with them to show off their work.

GuP is just the perfect anime with incredible world building! They give you everything you need and doesn't give anything that you don't. Everything just works because that's always how it works. Like you said, it's a chad move. Girls und Panzer is a chad anime with everything you said in the video, the world building and writing are just perfect. I cannot agree more with all your points here. Incredible work on the video, very nice indeed! Great job!

To my Knowledge there are three safety quotes 2 in the show and 1 in Der Film. The ones in the show are: Yukari, aka sgt. Oddball,aka Heinz Guderian, aka Floof, aka Oarai's unofficial Sub-Commander (Shut up, saying about the emphasis on the participant's safety. And Miho going a little bid more in-depth with that the interior of the tank is Coated with Carbon, which does have reinforcement properties. The safety quote in Der Film is said by Shichiro Kodama that there are rule against using an Open top tank. Which according to the GuP wiki is because they are insufficiently Armoured

Btw the safety part is somewhat explained in other media of gup. Rosehip for example mentions in the moto love manga a carbon armor which protected her from lightning.

Ah, GuP such a lovely anime. A shame all the das finale movies aren't all out yet.

I think the most interesting part of GuP's worldbuilding is how its absurdness inadvertently explains how things are in the universe and justify the plot. You know how GuP's main plot was about the school closing down? In every other sports anime, it would have been absurd(and other non-sports anime that do have this plot *cough* Love Live *cough* are even more absurd). But the fact that the schools are giant carrier towns themselves justify the closing of the school. The sheer cost of running these carriers means that the schools have to justify their existence(be it via achievements, good results from their students, etc). This is where Ooarai with no major achievements or distinctions falls into the crisis of being closed down. This goes further in the various manga and supporting background information where its revealed that St. Gloriana has a large amount of funding from its alumni, and said alumni basically keeps the school afloat and have a lot of say in how the school is run(essentially blackmailing the school with their money), including the school team's tank lineup.

Yep! No matter how zany? As long as you are consistent with that setting? It stabilizes it. Not every story needs Trench level worldbuilding.

Like I said before (I think), I'm not great at picking up on these small details, but after watching your video, I see it all know. I honestly never thought about how unrealistic the show is in a lot of aspects. It was only after interacting with the community and learning more about tanks when I realized the blatant safety hazards that our favorite characters face on a daily basis. My favorite excuse on why Senshado is safe is "carbon coating". Also, trying to nit-pick small details and make things realistic is how you get TK (I am obligated to tell you that if you do not know what TK is, do not go trying to find out. You have been warned).
