Two suggestions from a lifelong cat person. I've noticed you call dogs by their names but generally call all the cats "cat" or "kitty." Actually, cats often DO respond to their names, even if they are not as obedient as dogs LOL. It might help to use their names! Also, I've had a cat professionally groomed using a high velocity dryer like yours, and it really scared her, which worried me. When that same kitty got very old, I began regularly bathing her myself. What I found is that using first a soft, warm towel, and then a regular hair dryer on low velocity worked great. I turned the heat to a higher setting and she LOVED that, while less noise and lower "blowing" kept her from being scared. Sometimes I'd gently brush her while I used the hair dryer. It took a few minutes longer but worked out much better. She even began to welcome getting bathed and dried.

My mom's cat responds to her name. My cat does too, she is very afraid of strangers so I have no idea how she would react to someone else saying it though. And of course they don't have the trained "come here" reaction that dogs do. But my mom's cat does sometimes.

Sometimes my cat gets really energetic after I use the equigroomer all the way down her body. Since she's so energetic already, I started to use smaller sweeps when deshedding, and she's less playful/pouncy afterwards!

This is because cats are easily overstimulated. For a cat that's stressed out and uncomfortable (or for certain personalities) it'll make them lash out in distress, but for a comfortable cat (who's maybe a bit more playful in general) it'll just get them all excited to play. For my cat all I have to do is pet her too much, then I bring out the fishing pole toy or the one she likes to play fetch with and she's so happy about the combo lol

We've had 3 British Shorthairs. All adorable. We were told that they don't shed much but 2 out of the 3 certainly did! In general very laid back cats but this one made it obvious, with the tail thumping, that she was not happy!

Today I will be grooming a black domestic shorthair cat. This cat was recently hit by a car, and resurrected by being placed in an ancient burial ground. The owners have asked me to use my strongest shampoo, as they have tried bathing him, but can't seem to get the smell of sour earth out of his fur. This cat was very lethargic during his bath. At times, it felt like I was washing a piece of meat. As you can see here, his eyes sometimes glow. This is one of the byproducts of being resurrected in a burial ground. Crossing an ancient barrier to resurrect a recently deceased pet is something I cannot recommend. It tends to not end well for you or your loved ones, and with animal shelters receiving countless unwanted animals every day, I would recommend adoption instead.

Are you sure Ivy didn't escape from Shreck??? Her eyes are "those eyes"! And what a temper!! Haha! Thank you for sharing videos as well as you knowledge. Where I live, we haven't got groomers like you and I must groom my recue ones by myself (10 dogs, 6 cats, different sizes and temperaments), so I learn a lot and I can say this summer, they are looking much better than years before! If at any point I'm able to buy something from "the outside", I'm nuts about your shampoos, the noosel and de equigromer!!!! i think the rage cage would work way better if you had curtains or smth surrounding it, something to shut off the environment so they feel less overstimulated. Though the idea behind it is cute, it's everything the cat despises - no hiding place, confronted with something scary and unknown, seeing an exit but not being able to use it. I know a curtain could ruin the lighting for the shot or smth but please consider this.
