Perks of not going to shows: long natural manes

Matt I own a hair salon in the states and you have hit upon what I do with the humans haircuts as well to make sure the "weight line" is softer. Using the tips of the shears/scissors really softens the edge. well done.

A horse looks better with a natural mane I think

Friend owns a friesian stallion with a mane and tail to die for, he squeals when we trim his tail so it doesn't drag on the ground, he HATES having his tail and mane cut, he either squeals or stamps his hoof, washing and brushing his tail and mane, that he LOVES. watching him gallop with that insane tail and gorgeous mane I can see why he is so proud of it.

You could always add a drop or two of oil on the hinge of the scissors so your hand and fingers don't get so tired so fast.

Would you like a tip from a professional dog handler and Master Dog Groomer who also has show horses? Do not struggle with heavy scissors! You will get tired before the job is completed. I suggest a pair of Geib 'Gator' series grooming shears. You can find them in most larger pet catalogues. They are lightweight, absolutely razor sharp, and are joy to use. Geib makes several series of their wonderful shears and each series is priced accordingly. I have always been more than pleased with the "Gator" series which is the middle grade. They are money well spent and will last a lifetime.

For getting a really nice straight mane bathe the horse first and then cut the mane just remember it will look shorter when dry and then go back when its dry and do any touch ups, gets a much straighter line then trying dry

You exaggerate a bit about the hygiene of Chase. It's a horse so it's normal for him to get sometimes dirty. He won't get any diseases 'cause he has a little bit dirt on his skin.😂 Horses are not as sensitive as you think.🤔

Every 2 months?! 😮😅 Last time I washed my horse properly with proper shampoo and stuff was like, I dunno...in September maybe? 😅 And I've had her for a year now 😂 but I mean, I do shower her with just water after her workouts because she gets so sweaty (she's a coldblooded trotter), but now she's clipped so I only wash away the dirt on her legs and just under her stomach after her workout ☺️ She also has a long mane and forelock and I don't dare to touch it with anything but show shine and my fingers to get rid of the knots 😂

what chase did at the start is so relatable for me!! my 15.2 cob does it and i just turn my back and do something else - e.g talk to a friend - and wait for him to walk to me cuz he *craves* attention like there is no tomorrow

Chase is a well-mannered guy, he can see how much you love him and is a trusting soul. You should go train in a barn-like Blue Hors for a few years to get the entire way of an Olympic level barn. You can learn so much there.Start learning how bad horses are as well.

Hi.My name is Meagan and I'm a 12 year old equestrian.Ive been riding for 7 months now.Ive had quite a ride with every horse I've ridden.I ride school horses.Right before I met my horse, I rode one named Diva.We did ok until she threw me off of her.Then, one lesson, I was not on her, but on a horse named Challenger..After about 2 weeks ,he was sold.i was really sad....but after 2 months, he came back. We started doing really well and hopefully we can start half leasing him aswell, as for someone is already half leasing him, which will make him a full least horse...a lot of people hope it can happen, because the other person already leasing him, is 23, and I'm obviously still in school, which means I can do school leagues and keep him going. The other woman and I have the same riding style which is also really great for us and our riding times never will clash. I just wanted to share my story with you....thank you if you read the whole thing😁

one of my tips is when bathing i use a currue comb to rub in the soap

What I would do on a horse that could not tolerate mane pulling is this: Comb and wet the mane to the 'wrong' side, then cut exactly like you did. Recomb the mane back to the original side and you shouldn't have that blunt, scissored look, but a closer to natural look esp. after it dries. Worked well for us and made braiding for competitions easier and better looking. :o)

Everyone talking about the his mane you need your research. He is a gersuse horse and so his mane is supposed to be that way. Another thing is he might get itchy with a long mane and he might also get flies stuck in his mane if he has a long mane. And flies could then bite him more By the way I know I can’t spell DEAL WITH IT

This horse is already like perrrfectly clean and shiny. Ma horse is bootiful and I love him so much but he gets so dirt and I don’t care 😂

I showed my dogs and we used Wahl clippers for faces and heads/ears. Grooming is fun it gives you a closeness with your animals. I loved it, warm water baths feel so nice to them. Your Chase is so beautiful. Would you put up more show footage.

so I have seen an accident where it was a low beam in the grooming area and he died instantly when crushing his poll. Keep the area above Chase's head high enough if he reared he would not hit his head. Maybe pad it if you can not raise the ceiling.

so yeah and I gave up to brush my horses mane in the winter because it`s so muddy xD We only have cold water and no solarium sooo... I have to wait till summer... what a fun xD (Of cause I will brush it when its dry but it will not look nice and shine until then xD

I am worried that the barn entryway for grooming is so low Chase could get a nasty poll hit too easily. Can you raise the roofline in case he hits his head? Plus you should buy a vacuum for starts and spend less on heat lamps budget for a bigger hay barn.

Would Chase's coat be a bit confused?? Since its summer in Australia, would he have his summer coat now or would he be adjusting? 😂
