How to video swapping the cartridge on the Glacier Bay Market Pull-Out kitchen faucet. Faucet -www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier-B... Part - www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier-B...
Thanks for making this video and linking to your parts. You have the same faucet as me and it really helps when I'm troubleshooting to find videos like this.
Can you tell me what position the handle has to be in to access the nut with the 3/32 hex tool? Should the handle be in an open or closed faucet position and should it be positioned for cold, hot, or mixed water? Thanks in advance for your reply.
This is awesome! But I have managed to do these steps out of order... I got the handle to come off the faucet, and the cap and brass thread are unscrewed and spinning freely, but the cartridge is still attached and I'm trying to figure out how that can be... I got the tiny hex screw completely out, so what is still holding the cap-brass thread-cartridge assembly to the handle? Agh! Help!
I have this faucet in bronze and like several other reviewers of these models had it seriously leak underneath the cabinet after only several months of use. I'm wondering if the cartridge is to blame, the brass ring wasn't tight enough, or if it came loose with use as someone else noted. What's your experience been, as I'm concerned that if it loosens again or the o-ring seals under the cartridge fail I'll be flooded again. I've marked the position and will keep an eye on possible movement, but that still leaves a possible failure of the o-rings. Just wondering if a bead of silicone around the edge of the cartridge chamber would be wise to prevent water from leaking out?
Do you know what the plastic, cream colored part that the brass nut screws into is called? The entire housing that the cartridge slides into. Mine is broken around the top, where the threads are that nut screws into. Does that plastic cartridge housing come out?
