Gladiator is a Slovak rock band, which was founded in 1989 together with Georgie Babulic by brothers Miko, Maroš and Dušan Hladký. The members of the group come from Aleksince. In the early 1990s, they leaned the most in terms of genre Heavy Metal and Thrash, their biggest musical role models being Metallica and Sepultura. After two years of successful performance at amateur concerts and festivals, in 1991 the band received an offer from the Czech music label Zeras to record their debut album. The video for the song "Profitable Losses" (1992) from this album, released under the title Designation, was the first Slovak music video to be broadcast on the programs of the American music station MTV.
