In order to improve connectivity in Glasgow's outer suburbs, National Busways West Scotland decided that a network of fast routes was required. These new routes would carry on from the 101 in the low 100s, and include the already established 108, with the new services being numbered 102-7. All services will use buses with route branding and which feature a PIS. All services will run every 15 minutes every day, with an uplift to every 12 minutes during peak periods during the week. The first of the new services are the 106 between Newton Mearns and Castlemilk, and the 105 between Castlemilk and Glasgow Fort Retail Park. Both will run out of PO using 26 new B10BLE Wright Renowns, 12 for the 106 and 14 for the 105.
