@arcangelbane

im an engineer myself and this was literally one of my best projects i did. but it has a very big flaw, your electrolyzer has to be very efficient which means that you have to use platinum-group metal catalysts which are very expensive. other types of electrolyzers are cheaper but also not nearly efficient as an PEM. the current and energy needed is another critical point, but you can reduce the required current by raising the temperature. also it is very tricky on how you design your combustion mixture. typically you would aim for the lowest air:fuel-ratio which would be Knallgas with a ratio of 2:1 but that is very dangerous to deal with. i ended up using the gas for a pneumatic system which also has a little pulse thruster, but this is only for stability purposes of a satellit and cant be scaled up before something blows up but i would love to see integza try his best

I am a final year chemical engineering student and I am currently working on vacuum distillation of hydrogen peroxide to produce high test peroxide for my final year project. I am currently using a packed column to do the same and achieved 90% purity in just 5 hours. For your next video you could try doing that by using a glass tube and 3d printed abs packings because from my experience it is much more powerful tho it has to be handled carefully.
@jaysengstacken2118

Be really careful with this man, many people have wanted HTP in the rocket industry and many have suffered quite potent explosions. Not saying don't do it, but just plan for it to explode at any point and for you not to be injured/building burnt down etc when it does. I like your "Dual propulsion rocket" idea alot I think a workable idea would be to have two tanks (H2O2 Peroxide) and Fuel tank top them off with compressed air. So if you open the valve they get expelled. Than I would spray the H2O2 on a mesh coated with Permanganate (KMnO4) to decompose the H2O2. after decomposition add the fuel. instead of KMnO4 you can use MnO2 this way you get decomposition without adding oxygen, but it will stay the same. You get the MnO2 from KMnO4 after it has been used once.

I built a combustor years ago and quickly learned that the injector that pour fuel straight out like that is inefficient. I took a bolt cross drilled the flats and bored the length to make an injector with 6 ports that pushed the fuel out perpendicular to the flow. It gave the fuel and air more time to mix before combustion and made a huge difference in the amount of thrust generated. Also inject the air at an angle that creates a vortex in the chamber.
@stratos2
@stratos2 7 месяцев назад
I find the dual concept really interesting. All that released steam will likely serve to cool the combustion, making it possible for you to run the engine harder with less cooling. Excited to see where this goes. Don't forget to account for the massive back pressure that will be pushing into your catalyst and peroxide tank as the engine fires.

Cool Channel, it reminds me on my experiments of my youth in the 80th, of course without videos and 3D-prints. I look forward to your 1st liquid-rocket-engine ;)

I love all your builds they are so scary in the coolest way. I was wondering if you have ever setup an electrical system to control ignition and burn rate of any of your rockets. Would be very neet to see

The concept of, "seeing" the inside of the combustion chamber is awesome! And the fact that it stays transparent in high temperatures because of the insulating barrier and cooling attribute of the air. Some suggests a *chemistry* theme for future and some suggests *more visuals* to be put in. ---What catched my attention was the software you used for determining the optimal nozzle design. Maybe we can see some more like that in the future? CFD, generative designs, etc.?

Its always a joy to watch your videos, it fuels my creativity and inspires me to make something of my own, I think a really cool idea for your future videos would be that you could use your CNC machine to craft the Wankel engine and run it on butane and pure oxygen, then make a turbocharger for it and run it off the exhaust gases, considering the materials can handle the temperature. Thanks! Edit: you could also run the engine on hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate and add combustion, if its even possible, in stages.

Would be fun to see one of your old engine designs attached to a rocket body to see how high it would fly

Can you try to make a remote rotation detonation engine? Where the detonation occurs 2-3 mm away from the injector to minimize the heat dissipated in the engine itself?

Man. I just love seeing videos like this where people are putting together ramjet and rocket engines from scratch. Also try making a rocket engine that employs thrust vectoring.

Since you are getting into an area of high thrust, i would really love to see you building a whole liquid fueled rocket, that could fly up a few hundred meters!

I would like to see you making a full rocket with the rocket engine, or a fighter jet with that engine.

You had my full attention with the two stroke engine using nitromethane...then you launched past it with the rockets. So, to fully satisfy my curiosity, I "suggest" you design and build one for us to see. 🤩

1:47 What a cute little turbo ! I recently built my first DIY turbojet engine and I can't wait to see what you'll do with it ! (a bit too much for the skateboard :D) There is a lot of power involved in those turbojets and welding is often required. I can share my flametube and combustion chamber designs if you want, they require no precision machining and, let say, few welds.

it would be awesome to see a more cnc made rockets in the future, I think the ability to use metal and new geometric shapes could result in some cool projects.

I stumbled across this channel by accident, and it has to be the most insane channel on YT - and the bar for that is set pretty high! It's basically a crazy guy trying to blow himself up in public!
