This is probably the perfect marriage of score and art since everything is so in sync

This sequence is so stunning. The fact that the unfinished product can overwhelm with emotion. The economy of the lines in the sketch work is just amazing. To communicate so much with so little. It's just art.

Having seen the film in theaters when it first came out, my seven-year old self was blown away by the whole thing, especially this scene.

I was believe in the adage of having the right tool for the right job. But there's also the matter of having the right man on the job and, in keeping with what you said, yeah you probably were born for this job. It's still to this day one of the best transformations Disney has ever put out in my opinion. It was astonishing and, in all honesty, the live action adaptation pales in comparison to this. Great stuff man.

"The Burghers of Calais" is excellent for this scene. The sculpture references the capture of Calais by King Edward III of England during the Hundred Years' War. Edward agreed to spare the city if they sent out six of their leaders to him - presumably to their deaths. Rodin captured the anguish in their faces as they prepare to sacrifice themselves for the good of others. Edward's wife Queen Philippa persuaded him to spare their lives. So to me, "The Burghers" is about the darkness before the dawn. Mercy is coming, but you can't see it yet.

Everytime I go to the city Calais, when I get off the train station I always turn right to the Town hall place so I can admire the beautiful sculpture which inspired this scene 💕 There is flowers and little birds all around it in summer. Then I turn left to the beach and seaside, it's magical

I hope this sequence will give me just as much goosebumps as the original animated scene did. The original scene is just pure Disney magic at its finest. Crossing fingers we'll see that same magic in the 2017 version and they'd better have this musical score to go with it!

It's funny, I saw the live action version maybe a month ago and I don't even remember the transformation sequence.
