Big Revelation - Renewed Equilibrium
In all good archetypal stories, the biggest revelation is left until last. Glengarry Glen Ross turns out to be a ‘who done it’ halfway through the story, and as in all detective tales, the felon isn’t revealed until the end. We find out Aaronow has resisted Moss’s attempts to make him do the robbery and that Levine, in his desperation, has taken up the offer.
In The Renewed Equilibrium, we see Aaronow going back to the grind. In the play, there was a double ending. The one we do not see in the film is where Roma is aware of what ‘Shelly Levine the machine’ is going down and immediately presses Williamson for Levine’s leads.

Some of the best acting that I've ever seen in a film. All the actors were superb. The late, great Jack Lemmon at his finest!

Great writing. Great casting. The writing and acting are on par with Chayefsky's Network or The Hospital.

I remember seeing this scene on TV late one night and being mesmerised by it. I hadn't seen the rest of the film and didn't know what was going on but was still gripped.

Jack Lemmon is so fantastic in this scene (in the whole movie actually). The decay from "not caring" to "please have mercy" is simply amazing.

0:35 Friggin' LOVE that click in Stacey's posture...it's where he finally emerges into that perfect mode of boss and negotiator instead of shooing away Levene or catering to Roma.

The brilliant dichotomy of this scene is the other salesmen were shitting on spaceys character all movie with quips about how he only got the job through nepotism but essentially he "sells" Levine into a confession and he ends up finding out everyone involved with the theft If you look at the way he gets the confession out he uses all the same sales techniques from the beginning of the movie

Actually, maybe if Shelley got a lawyer - a good one - the lawyer could have dug up a lot of dirt in that company and made it look bad. So being threatened with "going to jail" might have been a blessing in disguise. The point is that a lawyer might have exposed all the company's bullshit that drove Shelley to do what he did. But then again, I may be missing the broader point, which perhaps was that everyone there shared in the company's corruption. Moreover, the company was in a better position financially to acquire a decent lawyer. So their lawyer might just as easily have dug up dirt from Shelley's past.

if he didnt break he probably wouldve been fine cause they didnt have shit, all they had was the managers hunch that this guy did it because he assumed someone in an office full of liars lied. only reason he got caught was cause he panicked and confessed, even now they dont have shit just he said-he said which if he shut up after being brought bsck to the cops he mightve avoided the wrap

True, but really not close to Tarantino films that all come replete with the "N" word being tossed about like confetti.

you mean realistic? no one in this scenario....would ever dance around curses. The purpose....of cursing....is just what the name implies. They highlight a level of anger, frustration, hatred and disrespect that is not conveyed by dancing around it with more poetic language or visual acting. It's certainly possible, but consider this as well.....the language defines the character. More than this it defines the setting and situation. All of the men are exactly the types to talk this way....and they're in the situation to do so, in their work and in their lives. These are desperate, frustrated, sleazy salesman working in the big city at a high profile firm. Pressure and tempers are high. You'll also notice that not everyone cusses so readily. Williamson and many of the guys' clients...they're not IN their scenario. They're different characters. I can't imagine Shelley, Roma, Moss and the rest talking any other way. And Baldwin is actually there to reinforce it. He is essentially their drill sergeant, and also what all of them aspires to be. Baldwin's character cusses them out because nicer language won't work for his intentions. Think.....about the choices and writing....before dismissing it as 'bad swears'.
