This man Sam Elliott is the most underated actor, he has a 50 year career. He is extraordinary. The first time I've seen him was on The Biopic movie "MASK" in 1981, based on a teenage boy Rocky Dennis who suffers from Craniodiaphyseal Dysplasia/lionitis, who is portrayed by Eric Stoltz and his mother played by Cher, and Sam Elliott played Chers Boyfriend. It was a great movie and so tragic and he was amazing in that classic. But to realize that Glenn Close, one of the most extroardinary actresses of a generation or any generation has no Oscars... that's Blasphamy! She should have like 5 now. This women is considered one of the greatest ever. When you talk about Meryl Streep, Glenn is always right up there with her. She is like a throwback to the great golden Era Actresses of the 1930's/1940's/ 1950's...she has a 45 year career and No Oscars thats outragous. Glenn Close deserve the Oscar this year...long over due for her unmatched talent.

When I saw a star is born all I could talk about was his performance And I’m from a younger generation so I’m not familiar with most of his work but Sam Elliot in this film is phenomenal. I wished he was in every scene while watching the film he just captured me and I am grateful for him.
I love Sam Elliot, when I find out hes in something I immediately just know that ok this is gonna be good. There are very few performers that give consistent work and in my eyes hes one of them
I think Glenn will win, but Sam will lose to Richard E. Grant in "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" which is easily the best supporting performance of the year.
From The Big Chill, The World According to Garp, Dangerous Liaisons, Angels & Demons and all her other iconic roles. i am fascinated by Ms. Close what mesmerizing performances she has given us. And I remember seeing The Lifeguard when I was just 10 years old, i fell deep in love with Mr. Elliott in 1980 and have never looked back. Love this interview!

I'm not being dramatic when I say, if the Academy don't give Glenn the long,long, long overdue Oscar this year, I'll cease to watch it again as it will cease to be a valid prize anymore. I watched the Favourite, ASIB, and The wife. All were amazing, but Glenn rose above and this needs to be her year.

i think is envy from many other actresses, ms close is not just a good actress, shes a great actress, great singer, worked with the best, done great stuff and she looks like a nice person. every time i see her it reminds me of FATAL ATTRACTION, her line ¨i am not going to be ignored..¨

Glenn is overdue for her Oscar. I won’t be unhappy if she wins. That being said, on the same token, Sam really should win too. Both are legendary & deserving.

My father produced "LIFEGUARD", actually pretty much EVERYBODY on that beach is my family and our neighbors running around in our bathing suits. Sam Elliott was remarkable in Lifeguard, so natural.
The Wife is important because it was never made before. A Star is Born is new and improved, and it was made before. There are male editors mostly for papers, journals and books.

Eventhough I really loved Gaga's performance in Star is born and she really truly would deserve the Oscar but........ Glenn Close could not lose, I didn't see her performance yet in that movie but like DiCaprio, Julianne Moore and Gary Oldman..... she must finally win! Gaga will win the Oscar for the song, that's for sure! I hope Sam Elliott will be the next Best supporting actor winner!

Glenn Close needs an Oscar. Lady Gaga trained fully at the actors studio and preferred acting way before going into music and used music as an opportunity to explore performing in different roles, clever and why not.
