Recently cam across some of your videos. Love seeing the entire process. Have you thought about attempting a ramp for the Mag Release? Allowing more accessibility to the release itself. A few companies do them such as Terran Tactical. Curious if the engraver could produce this result.

What brands do you recommend to get started. Something relatively cheap but still good quality. I know these machines are expensive in general.

can you make a video tutorial on how you get it to be smooth like that? Also how long does the stippling last or is it permanent?
@FragoutDesign

Before the laser, smoothing? And it’s permanent unless you start shanking it with a fork or something

These look great. Is there a benefit to using the fiber laser vs a co2 (like the glowforge)? Also, is there a way to staple the back of the grip and make it connect all the way around?
@FragoutDesign

thats like asking whats better to use a crayon or a lawnmower. dont think c02s can do glock polys like this

@@jacksonmeasles3732 lol Jabronie is tripping. but to answer your question, a lawnmower is better. fiber lasers are more suited for this, co2 lasers are a completely different wavelength and do not do to good with polymers. also dot size on fiber lasers are smaller too so they get better and more detail.

why is it so hard to make a design like the stippling on the m&p 2.0? i have yet to see a single laser stippler succeed. all it is is a flat surface with rounded pebbles sticking out, spaced maybe 0.5mm apart.

@davidwilson7948

Fiber lasers cut the Nylon 6 of Glock frames well, but the wavelength is wrong for the polymers of many other frames due to their makeup and density. They tend to melt before ablating for almost any frequency and pulse at 1064nm of a fiber laser. For those polymers, such as found in Sig, CZ, S&W, LW and Polymer80 frames, I use a RF CO2 laser to cut them, which also cuts Glock frames even better than a fiber laser. The wavelength of a diode laser will cut them better, but exact alignment is much more difficult without spending time and money on creating jigs. To make them pretty at the end, I usually put them under a 5W UV laser for a full hatch pass.
