Welcome to Atelier Sandrine Maugy :) This is a full tutorial of a Camellia leaf painted wet-on-wet. The leaf was originally part of a Camellia series on my Patreon site www.Patreon/SMaugy in 2021. Some process photos and the palette are on my art blog here: sandrinemaugy.com/2024/02/21/... www.sandrinemaugy.com Instagram @sandrinemaugy (c)SandrineMaugy2021

Hello Sandrine. I bought your ‘Botanical Watercolours’ book. I used your instructions to paint the daffodil on page 36. It turned out well, thank you! For two years I have been trying to paint pansies. I picked up your book today and realised you have instructions on painting a pansy on page 146. 😅

I'm glad you enjoyed the daffodil :) I sometimes demonstrate pansies when I visit art groups because they can be quite good for beginners, as long as we choose the right ones. 🌸 Have you seen the pansy video tutorial I did for Fabriano? It's on their YT channel and it's a full tutorial xx

@@AtelierSandrineMaugy I don’t recall watching the pansy video on the Fabriano channel. I will have a look, thank you!

I’ve read your blog post about quinacridone gold PO49. It looked like you had quite a stash. I finally purchased some handmade full pans of PO49. It satisfied my curiosity for this pigment that was discontinued years before I restarted painting again. 😊

Hee hee, I do have quite a stash... But how did you get some PO49 so long after it was discontinued?

@@AtelierSandrineMaugy Guerra Paint & Pigment based in NYC sell dispersions (liquid form) of quinacridone gold. I thought of buying a bottle and making it myself but then decided not to. I purchased my pans from handmade paint maker Prodigal Son (based in the USA) who sells on E*T*S*Y. My pans are still tacky and a little soft. My guess is (though I could be wrong) he bought the Guerra dispersion to make his handmade PO49. There are two European handmade paint makers that I know that sell PO49: Dirty Blue (he also has a YT channel) and Della Magna. ❤️
