Zin, An idea for dealing with situations like the control panel / pilot's seat frame: In this case, it appeared that the control panel was the more difficult piece to install, so may I suggest that one way to handle this would have been to get the panel properly situated between the fuselage halves (without the pilot's seat in the way) and then glue up the one side of the panel, fully, to one fuselage half. Leave the two fuselage halves together, holding the control panel in its proper location (relative to both fuselage halves, but glued to only one), and when the glue has set up separate the fuselage halves, install the pilot's seat, and then re-assemble the fuselage halves. A couple of times, I thought this was the approach you were about to take, but then did not. In the end, however, you pulled the rabbit out of the hat and got it all assembled quite nicely. P.S. Thanks for the credit about using tape to protect little bits (e.g. antennas and what-not) that stick out.
Dear Tron, It's very good to hear from you again and you're on point with the methodology. As it happens, I used that particular method with the section that sits immediately behind the pilot's seat and it worked pretty well! I hope you are proceeding well with your own projects by the way! Regards, Z
Dear Paul, Thanks! I thought about those three! I don’t bowl these days, although I had a purple spell once, but that was twenty odd years ago! I open the batting these days… Regards, Z
Nice work, Z! I was expecting you to fill your swear jar when you were trying to get the cockpit, instrument panel and fuselage halves together.. Looking forward to part 2. Cheers, my friend
Dear Paul, Ha ha! I did think for a bit that it was going to be like the cockpit of the 1/48 Spitfire I did a year or so back! That went sideways on video for about 45 minutes!! Anyway, it seems to be going nicely and it’s pretty simple so far- wings are dead easy. The challenge will be painting the thing!! Appreciate you getting in touch again- thanks so much for looking in! Kind regards, Z
Just found your channel and subscribed i have never tried a icm kit this looks a nice kit so will give them a go the last time i built a gloster gladiator was way back in the 1960s it was in 1.72 dy airfix happy days anyway all the best and happy modelling everyone 👍
Dear Anthony, That’s jolly kind of you- I do hope you find something to interest you! This ICM kit is really rather good- I have encountered few, if any issues. I gather that it may also be available as a Revell kit too, but don’t quote me on that!! Regards, Z
Thanks Stephen! Always good to hear from you! I am thinking of writing in a little more detail on my substack. Mind you, there's much to do just now, so it might be a while... Thanks for writing my friend!! Hope all is well with you... Kind regards, Z
Dear John Alec, I bought this a year or so ago and wanted something that was easy- well that is until I get to the rigging!! Anyway... Kindest regards, Z
Dear Richard, Thanks- I’m quite pleased that I started this one! Regards, Z

Very nice work. I also plan to build this kit in the future, so I will be very happy to follow your construction. At the same time, I also give you a subscription. I wish you much success not only in building the model. Best regards, Aleš from Czech Republic 🙂👍
My dear Ales, It is very kind of you to write and let me know that you will be watching. I hope you will have a good time building the Gladiator- it is a good kit and I hope that I will do it justice. Kind regards, Z
Dear Judith, I may very well take a look at that one too- it was the predecessor to the Chipmunk, (same engine I believe), and used to be used for air cadet training I gather! Thank you for getting in touch! Regards, Z
Love this airplane, have the Revell boxing of this kit. Must be a nice tooling from ICM. Those little parts are indeed easy to break. Jolly good show 💥👍💥
Dear Scotty, How very kind of you to say so! The "T" means "thinned" as I run most of these through the airbrush and it's easier to simply thin the paints 50/50 right away. In point of fact, one can smell Mr Colour levelling thinner when it's in the paint so the T isn't really required! Anyway, thanks for getting in touch! Regards, Z
