This is what I did after watching dozens of diy's. and for a 2002 chevy avalanche z71 1. disconnect battery 15 min. with everything off. with AC set to AUTO. 2.start car 2 min. 3.turn off. 4.disconnect battery again 70 seconds then reconnect. 5.start engine 2 min running DON"T TOUCH ANYTHING. 6.turn off 7.turn on after 10 seconds, set FAN switch to on and test. good luck pablo

I sure hope this works for me. I’ve watched several of these diy videos as well and my GMC Yukon simply does not have an ‘HVAC ECAS’ fuse. It’s a dual AC model and I wonder whether that could have something to do with it. 🤷

Awesome fix I just tried it on my 03 2500 HD and passenger side is blowing cold again. Saved 600 dollars mechanic was gonna charge to take dash apart to swap the actuator

I have the manual left/right up/down sliders. It's also loses calibration. To reset that, move the temperature sliders partially off the bottom before reinstalling the fuse after restarting the truck. Then, when you reinstall your fuse and the HVAC recalibrates, you can move the sliders down to get the maximum cold.

Thanks for posting this, worked exactly on a 2019 GMC Terrain. Saved me $100 for just the part.

05 Yukon I was told to push the AUTO button first. Then unplug HVAC fuse. Wait one minute then re- install fuse. Start truck and don't mess with the controls for a few minutes. You will hear them flipping around.

The manual climate controls also uses actuators( I have personally changed about 50 of them ) . Slide both sliders about 5/8 or 16 mm up from the bottom . Set the fan on three then do this same process .

Not true about the manual ones they are all wire controlled they don’t have any vacuums. But they are recalibrated differently.

I inow this is an old video, but if anyone sees this and can answer it that would be great. I did this reset, and finally the A/C came out of the vents. So i was like, ok, problem solved. But i turned the truck off and whem i started it again it was back to not working out the vents. Im in Arizona, and while the truck will cool down between the rear a/c and the a/c out the defroster, its really nice to have it out thw vents when its 110°. Also, i have a stabilitrack error even though theres no ABS light and i just replaced all the brakes/,rotors/conteol arms and all 4 shocks. You can hear the truck leveling when you start it. Whatcha think? Do i need a new BCM?

Great video but there is no vacuum to A/C anymore. It's all done by electric actuators.
@james10739
@james10739 Год назад
The non digital ones are not vacuum in any way regardless the actual problem is the actuator is going out lucky that one that fails and does that is the easiest one to get to
@RodknockRhett

All GMT800s after 2003 have electric controlled actuators. Doesn't matter which controls you have.

Dude... the manual... non digital is not vacuum actuated.... similar actuators... easier to disconnect neg terminal for 5 min and then leave in accessory position without turning on for 2 minutes.... according to Dorman tech Chris

I heard that too. GM ditched the vacuum actuators in the 90s. Some vehicles in the 80s. These trucks have electric actuators on both the automatic and manual temperature control.

2000 to 2002. Everything's a slightly older like the radio, the steering wheel, the HVAC system, the switches. Honestly, I believe 9902 is better... For those reasons, the only thing you get is electric fans in like '05. That's it. That's why they have a couple more ponies so that's really all it is and they got rid of that stupid EGR system which honestly isn't that stupid. I see a lot of these 99 to 2002s with lots of lots of miles I see them all. It's the greatest truck ever built... Imo gm was the king of half ton daily driver truck from 1967 to 2007 that's a run baby if I ever seen one... Too bad the new ones are complete hot garbage

Would this work for Escalade too do you think? Probably right?
@joeyv821
@joeyv821 Год назад
As long as it's older than 06 than yes it should. All of these trucks (including the suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Silverado, escalade, and other etc...) were basically the same vehicle with some little bells and whistles. The drive train and HVAC system were similar. This is the digital dual zone system this gentleman has, you likely have the trizone with rear HVAC as well. The front HVAC system is mirror to this. The difference is you have a heater core, EVAP and yes, more actuator doors in the rear passenger side panel.
