Sorry to hear about that switched ground garbage. Thanks for the warning. Who tf makes an automotive anything that's switched ground? Excited to see your build done!
About to purchase my own 99 e300 turbo diesel. I love this channel and content. Thanks for all the great content and knowledge. Can’t wait to tune it up :)
Easy fix. Fuse panel positive goes to a headlight relay control circuit. Headlight switch controls headlight relay action. Headlights only come on when switched on as control by the relay and headlight switch You don’t want your headlights fed straight from a fuse panel anyways. Amp draw is too high. Fuse panel doesn’t have the long term capacity to act as the switching circuit for high load circuits You need a higher amperage direct battery positive common circuit around the firewall. To feed an high draw circuits Fuse panel + feed will only supply relay control inputs for all high amp draw circuits. That’s why modern cars have so many relays That’s assuming all the proper circuit panel outputs turn off with ignition switch off. If not the entire fuse panel may need a separate ignition switching circuit
Thank you so much for this video, I literally have this in my eBay list to get very soon ! You have saved me money and a lot of frustration, thank you thank you thank you. 😘 Sorry that you have had this trouble though 😢
Hi Luke, being a switched negative setup (I think the SSRs must be open collector outputs) - if it was a conventional filament bulb you could just swap the polarity - put the common wire to positive and switch the negatives. However LED bulbs are sometimes (usually?) polarity dependent. There is a way you could get round it by using an additional relay but a bit faffy.
@@tonywhite7753 Correct, but some automotive LED lights have a full bridge rectifier as part of the driver circuit so actually aren't polarity sensitive. Some, not all, unfortunately.
@@rowanwilson8896 wow I didnt know this. I guess everyday be a school day. Awesome that the include a FBR. Shame many LED headlights are illegal to retro fit onto older cars. Much brighter and better visibility.
You may have some luck with a company in the US called painless performance. I have three 603 pump cores for you but the shipping is insane - any suggestions? I have a 603 for my 97 6.5 diesel suburban swap as the 606 is rare and $$. Keep up the great work you do!
Please do the 8hp70 on a nissan patrol y61 Om606 engine 8hp70 gear With an transfer adapter It will be one hell of a built plsssss do it It’s my dream built
I wouldn't be ripping into Mat Armstrong like that really, I mean let's be honest for a second, Mat is the only decent British youtuber we have, and like his style or not, business is booming! If anyone needs a good head shake it's the likes of your DMO's, LLF and every other fucker who stands in front of a car someone else built for them doing there best Top Boy impressions! 🤷
