Part Spectral remix. I'd like to thank Paul for "polishing" the mix. This badly recorded & virtually mono recording has been criticised for it's sound since it came out - even though it is a stunning song. Hopefully this is a small improvement . Released in 1972, it made No. 5 US & Canada and No.14 Australia. The Raspberries were influenced by The Who, particularly the songs "Substitute" & "Pictures Of Lily". Pete Townsend coined the phrase "power pop" around this time, but it wasn't until Badfinger's "No Matter What" & The Raspberries "Go All The Way" that the term came into it's own. All credit goes to The Raspberries.

Thanks Ed! I worked on this for nearly 2 weeks. Most of the work was spent extracting sounds (elements) from the lead vocal as, once i did the initial process, the vocal was wandering all around the mix. A lot more work could be done to make it better still - but that can be left for another day. Cheers Tiger.

I've never felt the Raspberries were recorded properly. Most of their recordings sounded overmodulated. Gary US Bonds was recorded very poorly as well on his early hits. The Stones early hits weren't exactly engineering masterpieces, either. The one that always irks me is how overmodulated "Go Now" by the Moody Blues (with Denny Laine on lead vocals) is.

Thanks Decca!! No i don't have multitracks - it was done with Spectral Software, extracting elements of the song & remixing. Check out my mix of Raspberries "I Wanna Be With You" - came out much better than this one i think. Tiger.

Thanks for the idea! I'm actually going to create another channel just for my originals - in the next few weeks when i get a chance. I've got another couple of songs just about ready - and i've got a friend who is going to be making videos to go with the songs! I'm very busy with other things at the moment - but i'll keep you posted. I'm doing this because the format of this channel doesn't quite go along with my originals. Thank you for your loyalty! I have to applaud your effort. This is probably one of the shittiest mixed songs to ever be released by of all people Capitol records. Far from Full Dimensional stereo. I tried for 2 hours and gave up. Bottom line, the man who mixed it back in the 70's should have been shot on site. You did good and so far this is the best. I want to say beyond a doubt no mulit-track exist, just like all the ABC Dunhill masters, that were tossed in the dumpster when MCA bought ABC out

I ripped your track and tinkered with it, and got a little better results. Inverted the left channel, made it ahead of the right by a mini fraction of a second, eq'd it, and still wasn't right. I tell you what. I live about an hour away from Universal studios. Let's steal The Doc's DeLorean and go back in time, and still the multi-track and return it after we have at it LOL

I've got "I Wanna Be With You" on my list to do as well - it's just as bad. I've got a few new ideas to try on this one - see how it comes out. I've tinkered with "Lets Pretend" as well. The whole Dunhill thing was a disaster - all the Three Dog Night stuff that is gone too.

Such a shame the original recording sounds so sonically shabby. Great song, the heart is there but apparently a crappy engineer and producer were included in the mix. Sounds over-compressed. Maybe add some de-compression to increase transients and dynamic range?
