i was at work today when it came over streetly . i couldnt see it as there was very low cloud, but my god it was low and loud. the engines were screaming

If you can go on fr24 and go on playback. Start at 11.40am and you'll see properly what the 380 did. 👍✈👍

I am 76 and have travelled on planes more times than I can remember and never experienced a go around have you ? My son recently experienced a rejected take off, scary he said.

Thankfully not. Like yourself I have travelled more times than I can remember and have never had any bad experiences not even bad turbulence. Always have it in my head its the safest way to travel. Thank you for watching and taking time to comment 👍✈👍

Some years ago in the 1980's we were unable to land at Bristol because of fog diverted to Birmingham but yes like you no really bad turbulence. Hope to fly somewhere again in 2024.happy new year. to you. Do you flight sim by any chance ?@@speedbird0094

Its called an undulating runway. Two reasons why. 1) cost to level 2) helps with drainage. There is a small stream that passes through the airport to take excess away. Appreciate you watching and taking time to comment 👍✈👍

If you look at the successful attempt the plane is in a similar position on the runway but the nose is pointed further up. I thought it was going to go around again. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍✈👍

I think, and I'm happy to be corrected, that the A380 has to go quite a long way down runway 15 to find an exit wide enough to turn onto, at Birmingham. If you see when the reverse thrust is dialled down, they've got plenty of room before the exit, which isn't even the one at the end of the runway. Comfortably enough margin. 👍🏻

Yes agreed. Think the crosswind caught them off guard for a second ( it was quite gusty that day) and again they took the safe option to go around. 👍✈👍

Changing commands during go arounds is not common, afaik. Could be the shear wind indicators showed different/lower values which may not be obvious from an outside view.

Too much go around at Birmingham airport with that a380. It’s clearly too big for the runway. maybe that b777 was the better idea…

Unfortunately a lot of airports are struggling with go arounds and diverts. Only last night we received a few from LGW. Last week we took diverts from EMA MCR etc. I'd take a go around and a safe landing. Thank-you for watching and taking time to comment. Appreciated 👍✈ 👍✈
