Nolan was misguided by the response to his Batman series. He thought audience was intelligent and went ahead with writing the story for man of steel hoping that audience would showcase intelligence. He was wrong and it probably made him question if audience was dumb all along his Batman trilogy as well
The original script from Nolan was Superman doesn't kill Zod. After long discussion between Zack and Terio, they had to changed it and Nolan doesn't like it at all.
Chris Terrio wasnt even involved with DC until Ben Affleck brought him in for rewrites of the BVS script lol. Also, Zack actually knows comics, Nolan doesnt.
Pretend everything else was all nothing?? Smallville and everything else leading up to this.. .that thought is a no no..
