this man is brilliant, simply brilliant. this movie was as close to the book as it could get. and a great movie within itself even if you didnt even know the book existed
his films are shot in a STYLIZED fashion. That's why there was the slight sepia tone to 300, and the reason the battle scenes were shot in that pause-go method.
actually, it's a known fact that most all the characters of Watchmen were based off of various comics. Because there were some legal issues, they just changed around a few things.
that would actually be amazingly tight if Snyder shot the movie exactly from each frame of the novel... itd also seem more doable if watchmen was a mini-series.
