Go Pro HERO 5 Exposure setting and smart remote

Hello everyone. Just thought I would upload this quick video. I was wondering if my old smart remote would work with the hero 5 and thought I would also show a bit more of the exposure trick while using the video mode. Like and subscribe for more videos like this one. Thanks and enjoy.

Great to know that the Smart Remote will work with the Hero 5 Black. I have the Hero 4 Black and was thinking of upgrading but didn't want to have to invest in another remote. After seeing your demonstration of the Auto Exposure feature, I really want the Hero 5 Black now. I did not know that it was capable of doing Auto Exposure like that. Thank you for the great video. :)

Thanks Rob, just what I was looking for! My old 3+ is past sell by date so just bought a 6 black. So glad the remote works with it!

You’re very welcome. So glad I could help !! Yeah the 6 is a great camera. Improved sound over the 5 and the built in stabilisation is pretty awesome. It does to an extent. I’ve used it with the hero 6 but I did have a few issues some of the time. Thanks for tuning in !

Cool mate !! It’s a great camera, just can have the usual GoPro glitches. That’s why I sent my Hero 7 back. Yours could be fine tho.

Can you activate the recording function straight away with this remote when your GoPro is completely off?

Hey !! If you have the GoPro turned off then you can turn the camera back on by pressing the record button as far as I’m aware. But the blue tooth still needs to be on of course. Thanks for tuning in !!

Hey !! You’re English is perfect !! I’ve not experienced this I’m afraid. Is it when you are going through menus or when actually recording something as it’s possible the sd card may not be fast enough ??

Can you do the exposure on photo mode too I tried holding my finger whilst on photo mode & it didnt work (no square came up basically) ✌😎✌

Hello Daniel. Yep works on photo mode also. Which model camera do you have ?? Should work exactly the same. Press and hold until square appears and then set the exposure that you want and then press the tick to lock. Hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in mate !!

@@robpullen I have the GoPro Hero 5 Black & it's been updated to the newest firmware to soon as I got it! My exposure works on the video, But when I do the same on my picture screen nothing happens sadly does it matter if protune is on etc? ✌😎✌

Daniel J Rodriguez Hello mate. It may be slightly different on the 5 and it may not work in photo mode. You could try with protune turned off as on the 5 if I remember you can adjust the comp level, I think that’s right lol. Try with protune turned off. Let me know how that goes. I’m gonna try on my 5 also now. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Ok so I just tested on my hero 5 and it works if protune is turned off. However I don’t think mine is on the latest firmware. It’s possible that it is but as I’m using my 6 more I just keep the 5 as a back up. So by turning off protune the exposure should be able to be adjusted using the screen.

Hello mate. Yes it works with both models as such. Can cause a few issues but if can work with both so yes. I have a video on this.

No they don't work, I have the gopro 5 and they don't work. I seem gopro 5 don't have the same menu.
