@@mouadyuri1147 In verse 34 Jesus is showing how he is not what the Israelites expected. The Israelites expected a king to come and take over the land they lived in, but Jesus showed how he came to be a serve and love people. In verse 35 what Jesus is saying that people who choose to follow him are so devoted towards him as the way, the truth, and the life, that by comparison it would look like they hated their mother and father. However, since one of the commandment is to honor said mother and father, that means that any believer that follows christ is able to do so and still honor their parents and family particularly if their parents and family are not saved. Therefore, in both verses Jesus is showing how following him back then was a controversial decision that would cause strife and division between the people who followed him and the people (particularly the pharisees) who saw Christ as a false and dangerous teacher. In today's contex it can refers to how many believers following the ways of Jesus might be seen as controversial to family and others and it might cause division. However, this is all the more reason why believers in Christ are called to love others inspite of disagreements. Have a blessed day. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yJo3ECeb5SI.html

@@CLDJ227 You are a fool or what, according to the whole text, Jesus commanded the apostles to spread his message to the children of Israel only and not to any other nation, and among his commandments, that he did not come for peace and love, but came to separate the son from his father and other things Meaning that his goal is to separate families, and this is the work of the hypocrites, not the righteous

@@mouadyuri1147 I recommend studying the text in full contex of the chapter or book. In Matthew 28:19 states "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" , Matthew 24 states "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." These verses show that Jesus instructed the disciples of Christ to preach to all nations and the whole world not just the Israelites. Christ came to die for all people so that all can be saved through him as Galatians 3:28 states "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Also, because many Christian's believe that Jesus is the way that might cause divisions towards those who reject God. However, that does not mean that we need to be divided. Jesus show us how to love our enemies, love ourselves, and love others. The same unconditional love that lead God to send his son to die for us is the same love that we can show others even if there is division because of disagreements. Have a great day and I hope I've given you a bit of insight and understanding in the worldview that many Christians have.

Great answer: it addressed both sides: the verses which say God hates sinners and that He loves the wicked. The Bible is full of things that seem to contradict (God is one in three persons, Jesus is God and man, etc.) and it's so important to understand how they don't contradict. If you wonder about things like these, this is the study of Theology. I recommend Wayne Grudem's "Systematic Theology" as an excellent resource. It is a great help in understanding these things. No doubt that His ways are much higher than and hidden from us, but if His love is different to us than it is to Him, than so is His hate and why discuss either? I believe that God loves the sinner and hates the sin, He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and if so, He must not hate the sinner, for hatred is entire and devoid of love. So if God is merciful unto all, it would imply that God loves all, even those who will be damned, it is not until that sentence is carried out that His hate will be inflicted upon those who believed not. He will then hate the sinner because He will no longer be merciful to them. If we as Christian’s are supposed to love our enemies, is not our Lord the more perfect in this?

@Σά ββας free will isn’t a thing. It’s free choice. I get to choose to do things I don’t get to choose what I want. Second of all, if you were to point a gun to my head I wouldn’t be afraid of non existence because I know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I’d be afraid of a variety of different things, non existence would probably not be one of them. It would be a natural response in the brain because the brain wants me to survive. I’ll give you this, there is a certain natural fear that comes from the thought of ceasing to exist, but this doesn’t AT ALL contradict the fact that people can and do want to cease to exist. In fact you actually can point a gun to someone, and they have the potential to even feel happy and say “do it” because I know from personal experience when I thought of suicide it also gave me a degree of peace and joy that this will finally all be over. I’m not as suicidal anymore I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t thinking quite right about this topic. And I don’t get where in my comment I even mentioned this topic. My point was simply that God hates unbelievers while also loving them, which is true because Psalm 11:5 testifies to it.

We Eastern Orthodox Christians hate sin and we love the sinner. That is the true relation of the Church to sin and the sinner. The Church never, without exception, compromises with sin, but in relation to the sinner it behaves like a mother, sometimes with pedagogical measures (epitimes), which prescribe the canons of the Church. But even then, this relationship is extremely loving, as a parent when punishing the child, and is aimed at sensing and inciting the sinner of repentance, but not to humiliate and destroy him.

@reddog9484
@reddog9484 5 месяцев назад
Depends on what one means by saying this. At times hate is a comparative term, in God both aspects of love and hate are true. He loathes all sinners, but yet has no pleasure in the death of sinners and demonstrates His love by providing for His enemies the necessities for life every day by sending the sun and rain without fail. Then Jesus asks us to emulate this in our lives also by loving our enemies. We can prove Jesus loved all people, not just the elect, by the fact He kept the whole law which says to love your neighbor as oneself. The trouble we have is we like to focus on one aspect of God, when He is infinite. He is Love, but can be wrathful, righteous, etc because He is Holy. An example of love hate as humans would be lets suppose we had a dog we loved but it attacked our kids. If we are morally complete, we will be angry with the dog and put it down because although we loved the dog we detested what it did and what it became. Nor would we have pleasure in its death because we loved it. The most unsufferable calvinists are those who seem to take pleasure and boasting in God hating sinners though He is never been described as being Hate.

Question: How far will God go to get us back? Will He put us in time out? How long does it take for Him to restore us? How can one tell He isn’t mad at them?
@icecoolguita
@icecoolguita 3 года назад
Hey I think these questions can be answered by understanding what we call "the gospel" I've linked a good summary of it so please give it a read: www.desiringgod.org/articles/a-six-point-summary-of-the-gospel Imagine you've committed a crime. You owe a huge fine and you're unable to pay it. Then someone offers to pay it for you. This is the only person that has enough money to pay that fine, and he pays it in your place which satisfies the legal requirement. That's what Jesus did. For a bit more explanation, to answer Question 1): Jesus was willing to come down from his throne in heaven to serve as the ransom for our punishment. On earth, he lived a perfect/sinless life, while suffering all the temptations and pain that normal humans do. This is evident in Luke 22:44, on the day he was about to be executed he was in such anguish that his sweat was like drops of blood. He was tortured and nailed to the cross by the crowd refusing to believe he was the messiah. This was all part of God's plan though, he rose again in three days demonstrating that he can, and has, conquered death, the rightful punishment for our sins. Going back to Question 1): He could've just stayed in heaven instead of going through all that, but he did it because that's how much he loves us. The bible promises that as long as we truly believe and accept that Jesus *already* took the place for our sins, and *truly* repent to follow Him, then God will see us as sinless come judgement day. Question 4): God will not be mad at us in regards to sin because Jesus already paid the price of our sins for us. Question 3): This is in effect *immediately* when you truly believe. Of course, if one only says with their mouth that they follow Jesus/is a Christian, yet still chooses to keep sinning(meaning they don't hold God in very high regard) then it's a different story. Question 2): The Bible doesn't mention God putting us in anywhere/anything resembling a time out. If I took your question out of context or misinterpreted it please let me know. Cheers.

@@rishkabees Would you be able to call it free will if God forced people to accept him? It's just like any healthy relationship, both people need to want it in order for it to be a genuine relationship.
@icecoolguita
@icecoolguita 3 года назад
@@rishkabees People don't become Christian just so they can avoid hell, and have to glorify God in order to keep themselves from being eternally punished, that would actually be a really sad existence. I'm not denying that God deserves the highest kind of reverence since he is almighty, but I'm not saying that only out of fear. My point is that that's not where it ends. If it's a bunch of laws and avoiding what you can't do, then that's like a tyrannical king. There's no freedom/peace/joy/life in that kind of relationship. God deserves praise since he is the almighty, from what I see Christians want to accept this because they actually feel loved. God has never directly talked to me or most other Christians in verbal form, but as to how I know God cares about people, I'll try to make it short: I grew up under pretty harsh conditions(single mother, poor, health issues) and was suicidal, when I was in despair, I felt a strange warm kind of comfort that I knew was from God. I don't think I can describe "the feeling" in a way that makes logical sense, all I know is that in my childhood the only one who cared about me was God. I got into college, eventually decided to live for myself and do what I wanted to and put God on the backfoot. After some time, I thought that what I was doing had no point. Something happened after I watched a youtube video of a guy's testimony. I felt the same kind of warm feeling/joy I felt when I was younger. Sometimes I get "that feeling" when I'm listening to worship music or trying to tell God what is genuinely on my heart just to let you know it's not a one time thing. That specific feeling isn't the reason that I'm a Christian, but it's how I know God is loving just like the Bible states. All I know is if a person genuinely seeks God they can be with him and have complete satisfaction as God intended. (There have been instances where God does speak directly to people, but ever since the event called Pentecost, how God communicates with Christians is through what we call the "Holy Spirit.") From my experience, the kind of joy that God gives makes me feel "complete." It's better than any kind of happiness on this earth. The best way I can describe it is similar to how people in a healthy marriage feel more "complete" when they have a loving spouse or on the opposite end of the spectrum, people who don't have genuine friends feel lonely though surrounded by people. Humans are designed to care about each other, after all we're made in the image of God. I want to be a Christian because we're created to be united with God. It's the ultimate satisfaction a person needs. I'm still not denying that God is the almighty and we should obey. It's because God knows what is actually better for us in the long run. If you want evidence as to how people aren't chained by the laws God gave us, look at some (genuine) Christians, they're not living a life of stoicism, they're the happiest people on this earth. It's fulfilling.
@icecoolguita
@icecoolguita 3 года назад
@@rishkabees I've read it but I really don't view the Bible as a book that is trying to condemn me or anyone else. I'm really sorry for what you went through when you were younger, but I can assure you that God's main goal isn't to abuse nor is he out to get anyone. "For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord, Repent and Live!" (Ezekiel 18:32). There's even a verse that says “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”(John 3:17). I'll try to explain a bit more, not that I have all the answers, but at least it's a perspective to why I view God as loving. The thing that also exists with God's love is that he shouldn't compromise with anyone since he is God, a perfect being. If we sin knowing that it's sin, it's really on ourselves and we deserve the consequences. I admit it's hard to accept in our culture today but since God is holy, any stain of uncleanness/sin should naturally be isolated from God. God can't be with it nor should he bear with it. It's only right because God is God. What you're saying about God expecting Christians to deny themselves, to fight each day against their sin, how God killed everyone in Sodom, all the crazy stuff in the old testament is definitely true. But how is it possible that some Christians still genuinely believe God Is the most loving? God isn't just angry when we sin and out to get us but actually desires everyone to be saved. Like genuinely still wants us to be with him(Keep in mind that God is almighty and can't be with any sin). There's great rejoicing in heaven whenever someone is saved. Living any kind of life is hard, and that includes being a Christian but the thing is being a Christian really isn't burdensome. Since Jesus came, if a Christian genuinely believes and trusts him, everything else follows. The Bible never promises it would be easy, since we fight against our sinful desires everyday but if someone genuinely is in a loving relationship with God, they'll naturally want to give up on things that they know are categorized sinful by God. It's like a marriage relationship, if you both love each other, you'll want to do things for your significant other. It would be impossible to want to follow the Bible without having a true relationship with God. At times I feel it's hard to not go back to my sins overall but I've found it's just as it states in the Bible: "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." Following Christ is less burdensome than trying to use my own willpower and decisions to live my life because God actually knows what's best for me in the long run. We're all sinners so we needed someone to pay our ransom in order to avoid eternal separation from God(hell). Jesus, God in human form, came to sacrifice himself for us and he's the only one who could do that since he's the only one that lived a completely sinless life. Even though he IS God he still suffered all the temptation and pain just as every human does. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" (John 15:13). The God who is almighty and perfect that he can't be with any sin, but who we sinned against, did this. There's a pretty good modern TV series going on called "The Chosen," attempting to depict how people perceived Jesus in his time. I'm mentioning this since we have different perspectives on the God the Bible mentions. I just hope you can see how God is actually loving so I'll link the pilot episode here in case you're interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4y9rNSKuk3I.html Further episodes can be found here if you enjoy it: watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen

This is a difficult issue, and I haven't got it all sorted out properly in my own mind. I do think it is right that God hates every sinner in a sense of seeing and feeling that it would be right to punish that person. But I don't think God's hate for sinners is an exact opposite of his love for them. I see his love as a greater and fuller thing. Especially when thinking about Christians, I think it would be a mistake for us to see God as both loving and hating his children with a passion. I would see his love as kind of eclipsing his hate for us.

This definitely isn’t easy but I hope this helps you - John 3:16 says “for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Right there we see God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us to save us. At the same time though, God hated our sin (so yes us sinners in our sin) so much that He sent His Son to die for us to save us. It’s both at the same time...Sin matters very deeply to God. He sent His own Son to die for our sin. Before we repent and believe in the gospel, we are enemies of God and He is storing up wrath for us. But at the same time, He is wanting everyone to come to repentance and to be saved. He is patient with us in our sinful state and hasn’t come back yet to give us a chance to turn to Him. This is hard but definitely something if you dig into Scripture you can read and find all over...God is both loving and wrathful at the same time, but both attributes are good, and are worthy of praise. If you haven’t ever seen American Gospel: Christ Crucified, you should give it a watch - it’s so good and it explains this concept so well and in depth!!! Also, if you don’t have a study Bible, I would recommend an ESV study Bible...there are tons of good footnotes in there that have helped me reconcile with some of these harder doctrines. Just know I’m a “radical” in my family too...you’re not alone. Jesus calls us to be radical in our following of Him (we have to love Him more than our own family, die to ourselves daily, etc) so it’s good people are seeing your allegiance to Him!!! Hope this helps.

Second, as far as God having a hate for believers is concerned, maybe I was wrong and you are right and God doesn't have any hate at all for believers. Or is there a sense in which he has a kind of minor hate that is overwhelmed by his love? Even as far as non-believers are concerned, we should think of God as having more love than hate. John 3:16 tells us that out of God's love for the world, i.e., all people in the world, he sent his Son. This suggests that his love is a more important thing than his hate, even for non-believers.

God certainly loves sinners, we have all "missed the mark" and are worthy of hell. God sent his only begotten son, to die for the atonement of transgressions and clean us for FREE if we would only accept Him and His message and His Grace. He extends his hand to all, from least to the greatest sinner. If that is not love, I dont know what is.

I don't feel like questioning this view. For some reason when horrible things tend to be true I don't feel like questioning them. Must be because these people believe their delusion that God is horrible yet they are right to love Him just because He's God. You don't love without a reason. You can't love God unconditionally because there is every reason to love God. Ridiculous. How can these people be so blind? Even many of the people in the Bible believe God hates us. HE DOESN'T!!

He didn't die for the non sinners because there are none. Alll we have to do is accept Jesus for who he is and adhere to his teachings, love one another as I have loved you ETC. God hates sin and people who love to sin (sinners). But we are His creation so He loves us. Like parents. They love their kids but hate their behavior sometimes. Well, through the Cross and Resurrection, those who believe in Christ are justified (forgiven) and called to sin no more. And our sins when we can't help it are forgiven. But we are called to repent from our sins

@benjamincase1427
@benjamincase1427 3 года назад
@@smashcrew7291 Hey, I know this is late, but I have to tell you I empathize with your confusion. I also struggled with the question of how God can hate and love sinners simultaneously. I knew it was true because the Bible teaches us to love our enemies, and Ezekiel shows us some of the most moving passages in which God offers salvation to the wicked in chapters 18 and 33, while at the same time Psalm 5:4-6, Proverbs 16, Romans 9, and a plethora of other passages of Scriptures explicitly state God's hatred for sinners - several times identifying them personally as an abomination. So, I knew both were true, even if I didn't understand how. But I reached out to Ligonier to see what they had to say, and the answer was so obvious I was embarrassed. I couldn't believe I forgot the role that the image of God played in this doctrine. Of course, it also helps to distinguish between the different forms of love, but the specific problem I was facing was that I forgot the reason why we are to love our neighbors - beyond the obvious and equally correct reason that God told us to. The only reason any of us has any measure of value or dignity is because we're made in the image of God. When Adam sinned, he disfigured that image - specifically, he went from being holy in God's sight to morally abhorrent because of his sin. God said to Adam that in the day he ate of the fruit he would surely die - and he did. His spirit died in sin from that moment, completely changing man's relationship with God from one in which God walked and talked with him to one in which man was under His just wrath and condemnation. Because Adam was made in the image of God and Adam marred that image, his offspring would not only bear the image of God, but it would also be disfigured in them just like it was in Adam. That's why Moses, in Genesis 4:1-3, goes through great pains to bring the reader's attention back the fact that Adam and Eve were originally made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26), but then it says in verse 3 that Seth was born in the image of Adam. We know this doesn't mean that Seth wasn't made in the image of God, because in Genesis 9:6 God told Noah that the reason he was to execute anyone who committed murder was because God made man in His image. It's because God doesn't have the distortion that Adam - and every one of his descendants - put on His image in them. God is completely incompatible with spiritual deadness and sin - the only way He can live with them in eternity is if He actively judges them. This is the story of restoration; God sent His only begotten Son as a means of restoring His image in man. We were made in the image of God, but we disfigured that image. God chose from eternity past to elect some sinners - who reside under His judgement until their justification - to restore them to Himself, in accordance with the council of His perfect will, to the glory of His grace (Eph. 1:3-12). We are told constantly by the NT writers that we are being conformed into the image of Christ, who is the express image of the Father (Heb. 1:3), which is an ongoing process that won't be completed until our glorification (Philippians 3:20-21). So, just to give you the answer I received, God loves the wicked as His image-bearers, and manifests that love through common grace, which includes earthly blessings and external calls, offers, and commands for repentance; while, at the same time, God hates the wicked as sinners, whose rejection of the gospel, which God graciously offers them, will bring them under greater condemnation. The only thing that differentiates the elect from the non-elect is God's effectual calling, and the unmerited grace He bestows upon them; that only because it's in accordance with the council of His perfect will - not because there's anything native to my person that's better than anyone else. Others He foreordained to pass over. And ultimately the answer to why He chose to do that is found in Romans, where we learn that God chose to save some and to pass over others that He may, "make known the riches of His mercy upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory..." (Rom. 9:23). I don't know if this will help you at all, but it helped me and I hope it helps you too.

Why? I think you took it out of context sort of. Think of that passage in the context of a parent and a child. The parent loves there child unconditionally..but hates when they do bad things.. we dont hate our kids ..we love them.. And there is many forms lf love.. The 2 im stating is love love and Tough love. Whem we show tough love we are trying to teach someone something and how do right.. For God he Loves all his Creatures and creations. But hates the evil they do..cause we are all sinners..(the sinner is a person since.you put a ner at the end of sin) i agree that God will sent people who sin or to be more detailed- people who dont have there name in the book or life. People that dont love God/Jesus and all man and get saved by Jesus by making the covenant with him. People that dont have true love in there hearts. Thats all i have to say for now. Unless i get a reply. Im willing to have a deep peaceful debate on your Theology...
