Have to agree with everyone else here. While it would make for some nice flavor text and possibly alternative cutscenes, it wouldn’t really change the outcome of the storyline. Only thing that I think could really be changed is the initial fight with Thor and the fake death screen; like have it be near impossible to complete the button mashing segment but if you succeed then Kratos can end the fight early by letting out the old Kratos early.

You gotta remember something: Thor is more akin to a berserker whereas Kratos was an actual general leading an entire army. Even though Kratos took over Ares' position on Olympus, he's still capable of using strategy when it comes to combat

Garm was a body with no soul. When a person dies dishonorably, their soul get sent to Hel. Without any knowledge myself i speculate that, Perhaps some form of trickery or magic reversed this logic, or perhaps Garm is a kind of construct bound to Hel therefore unkillable. To what end that's a mystery to me. Or maybe Garm was once a living being like any other and grew powerful with time, perhaps he was cursed even, otherwise your guess is as good as mine.

@@DaniAdIg actually, GARM was a pup who was in midgard. He used to eat portions of midgard itself like mountains. Tyr was concerned that he may destroy realms. So, he let Garm chew his arm and sneaked him into helheim and installed chains on him. When Garm realised Tyr trapped him, he chew off Tyr's arm. Tyr being an Aesir like Heimdall grew his arm eventually. Tyr being a God of War didn't try to fight Garm. It could be possible that Garm was born without a soul or might be a unique creature born of the primordial forces of Norse realm

@@dinopower901 probably, but at the same time, Kratos being within the realm of Norse mythology already has changed many details from the original story, like Loki being named Atreus instead. So i wouldn't look at GoWR as a retelling of Norse mythology, it is its own story with its own twists and interpretations.

Legit tho, people saying he killed Kratos easily but in the 2nd fight he had the same Chance with Hitting Kratos with the Mjölnir and it did nothing but make kratos turn his head. Young kratos will Chop him up and feed him to the pigs Old man kratos would splatter him in seconds if he wasn't holding back

@@northernalpine4350 Mjölnir is still a very powerful weapon tho. Make no mistake. Plus a hit like that wouldn't kill him. It is not like his head is snapped, he just fell unconscious due to the strongest hit of the full power of Mjölnir.

They programmed the AI that way.. eventually difficulty will be a thing of the past

@@angelofdeath8933 difficulty imo is determined by how much freedom/power you give the player. Give him both and you have a very easy game. Give him one of the 2, a bit of difficulty hits. Give him neither that's how you make a game hard.

It is a good game but in my opinion it’s just really disappointing.

In the second battle with Thor, Kratos punched him so hard he let go of Mjolnir and Kratos had to hold on to him.

And that is definitely true. Everyone has that natural instinct of fucking around until they find out, and Heimdall is no exception. He fucked around, he found out, and he found out WHY Kratos became so feared. Heimdall’s also the definition of “pick on someone your own size,” because he was clearly too underleveled for the Ghost of Sparta.

I mean he let's brok do it whenever he finds out he died once, brok straight up says "what the fuck do you want" when Kratos slams the spear down
