God of War Ragnarok - Gna Boss Fight (Valkyrie Queen) HARDEST BOSS 

You know the boss is tough when instead of outright ambushing you, the game gives you a sort of “are you sure?” Moment before the fight begins on your own terms

She really showed her loyalty to odin, before she fight kratos and freya, she speaks to odin like he was still alive saying "Never Gna Give you up, Never Gna let you down."

Fun fact, if you got grabbed or Asgard descended on by Gna, there’s a special animation where Freya saves you from her attacks. Super cool details

I love how Kratos was so down to rip Gna's wings but as soon as he saw Freya grabbing her sword he instantly let it go and did not interfere, it just shows how calm and definitely not blood thirsty Kratos is

i like how the game baits you into thinking kratos is gonna rip her wings off like with every valkyrie we fought but instead he just hold them to keep her down instead. really shows how much he has changed through out the game and letting freya give her a chance

I think Gna is technically more difficult but Sigrun trained us for the fight so it was easier to adapt to.

I think it's neat that Kratos does the same animation for when he defeated valkyries before, but this time, he stops just short of it and doesn't tear off their wings, just holding them down

After defeating Sigrun, Gna feels like an afterthought.

This fight took me 4 HOURS! The amount of times I heard “FOR ASGARD” will forever be ingrained in my brain. 😅 I literally had to just go with hitting her three times after a stun and rolling away. I barely used any runic abilities as it would just distract me for any attacks after. Also only used the axe the entire fight so I wouldn’t get too locked into combos. The best advice I can give to someone for this fight is get used to mashing the dodge button because it will be your best friend. Take it slow watch for the changing attacks throughout the fight seeing as it seems she can pick any attack for her combo. Also her combos are hardly ever the same. I wish you the best of luck if you have yet to beat her!

I think it's safe to say that Freya has become the Norse pantheons strongest Goddess. Pretty cool when you realize she's also with the Greek pantheons strongest god.

I found her by complete accident when trying to explore muspelheim when I only had like level 5-6 gear and it took me close to like 2 hours to finally kill her cause I couldn't be fucked to grind for better gear and comeback later Never had an R3 prompt been so satisfying

I actually did not have any trouble with Gna and beat her first try. I REALLY struggled on the boss fight with the three berserkers at the same time. That one was brutal. Edit: I beat her on give me balance so that’s probably why it wasn’t too difficult for me.

This is the first boss video where I watch this and it -feels- like the Kratos we remember from before everything

I kept dying cause I couldn't read whether she would wing slap me or gut punch me after the bifrost beam thing. Finally figured out the way you could tell is if she dashed to the left or to the right. Good luck gamers

Watching Freya kill her friend like that is so sad I can only imagine that those two were super tight - like best fucking friends. The kind of friendship you could only foster after having fought so many battles alongside one another for as long as they have Family. These two were sisters in arms Then out of the blue, from Gna's perspective, Freya appears to destroy a perfectly beautiful relationship, throwing away all diplomatic ties, ultimately bringing everything to ruin and leaving their people subjugated of course, as the audience, there is no doubt Odin manipulated everyone's perception of his and Freya's relationship, but Gna doesn't know that. Gna loyally served Odin just as she did her sister Freya for as long as they were together - Probably for centuries. Why wouldn't she trust him? Why wouldn't she pity him, or empathize with him? To her, Freya fucked up So what normally would be a straining relationship with a family member at worst, began festering into resentment and rage, at best Betrayal. Utter betrayal I'd be pissed too, under such circumstances Then to add insult to injury, not only does Freya dare to show her face after such betrayal, but she comes back at the side of this savage outsider! This foreigner with a murderous reputation who not only helped slay the man she loyally served for centuries, not only murdered the rest of his family, but also murdered the last valkyrie queen that she was forced to succeed. If i wasn't seeing red before.. It's like "Who the fuck are you, Freya? I don't even know if I knew you to begin with..." Then after being humiliated in defeat, robbed of my vengeance, robbed of the justice I've waited so long to deliver, I"M the one whos being judged!? Me? "You would judge me!!?" she says the sheer audacity look at the way she turns away after Freya tells her she knows what its like to seek revenge She's like: "Bitch, I don't want to hear what you have to say!! How could you possibly know!? if you knew, then this strange man wouldn't be holding me down right now, HE WOULD BE DEAD BY YOUR BLADE, AND YOU WOULD DRIVE YOURSELF INTO MINE!!" ....of course Gna also doesn't know that he almost was.. The saddest part is that after Freya's desperate attempt to appeal to (her once) best friend, her family, Gna makes it clear that she'd rather be dead than to ever attempt to make amends with the likes of her. ...and Freya gets it, because that's how she felt with Kratos - she would rather have died than make want to make amends with the murderer of her son. and then the way that music slowly plays as she complies with her request - the only thing Freya can give that Gna could ever possibly want. Truly tragic I kinda wish the game would let you sit with that, maybe focus on Freya even, before giving control back to Kratos

I've found that using the spear only, wrath boosts, and time distortion helps the most. Also keeping pretty hefty pressure going forward gets the blue circles so you can shield break. All these things seemed to help. But I bet I tried 50 times and lost before winning. Still took a bezerker stone to win

Everyone beat this boss the same way: you were the most zen you had ever been in your life, but when the boss had half a bar left, you mashed your way to an ugly victory.

One of the best hints I can think of is to try to memorize the pose she takes before she does the spin attack. If instead of blocking you just dodge back and wait for her to stop spinning you've got an easy opening.

This fight is brutal. Even on "Give me balance." I struggled so much with it. The moves that murdered me the most, were the curved projectiles and the wing thrust. Not to mention, Gna would sometimes love to throw in sneaky red ring attacks and one shot me. So. Even if you play on normal. This fight is still an accomplishment. Be proud if you beat it. Haven't fought a boss like Gna for a long while.

Just beat it tonight on gmgow and I can confidently say that’s the hardest boss I’ve ever faced in a video game. I don’t know if being level 6 is considered under leveled for her but holy sh*t it sure felt like it.

For everyone saying sigrun makes this boss like nothing. This boss has way more health than sigrin did and still does just as much damage but the thing is..her attacks are easier to counter. The hardest part is keeping alive for long periods.

Just managed to beat her tonight. Took a few tries and she was very challenging and hit like a truck but I think Sigrun was harder for me. Gna was pretty easy after learning her attack patterns. Didn't even need a resurrection stone for her.

Part of me during the fight wants to say, you're no Sigrun, but I also fought Sigrun on both the hardest difficulty and new game plus hardest difficulty

My favorite part is when he cashes out on his special abilities in the beginning. Cause you know, “for Asgard”

With bosses like Gna, I find that, after losing 25 times: 1) Every loss after that doesn’t even make me mad. Their move set is being downloaded 2) I then finally beat them while maybe taking 2 hits in total 3) I don’t feel satisfaction in winning, only relief that I can go do something else with my day

Everyone is complaining who harder between gna and sigrun but never consider that the way they fight may be better suited for one or the other boss and also that not everyone on is the same skill level

I love the music when you fight the Valkyries. The sound of the choir is so beautiful.

I like how rage mode did the least damage. Also could enemies always attack and damage you while getting hit by your runic ability, If so I just noticed it this game

Tip: turn on the dynamic boss health bar so you don’t get off your game watching her health. Helped me biiig time after dying to her with only a sliver of health left lol

Am i the only one who found Odin to be a harder boss? maybe im just used to the Valkyrie mechanics after the torture that was Sigrun

She indeed is the hardest, it took me hours, I played it in the hardest mode, but each mistake you make you learn to know her moves, I also turned off UI and help to concentrate more in her attacks.

One of the things I like about these games, is it makes you feel like your on par with the enemy. It truly feels like a God vs a God.

If Sigrun is a sword, Gna is a chainsaw

Player you just gave a whole different meaning to those blades of chaos and how to light her ass up early with those runics .Found this valkyrie at a level 8 but her patterns were still crazy think im gonna take a page from your book 😂 .

I still remember Shirrako getting absolutely BODIED by Sigrun, barely defeating her with a sliver of health left. Compared to her, this is a cakewalk.

Out of curiosity, where did kratos get the sword?

She is not too bad in general. But what i loathe most is her hitbox for certain moves. It sucks that you have to play/counter her moves a certain way instead of making the fight more dynamic. As was the case with sigrun in 2018 GOW, there are a few moves that visually do not hit you and yet you get hit.

I put it to give grace mode and still really struggled, had 500 armour defence and still had to resort to the superior health stone. Only time I had no shame lowering the difficulty lol

The first time I tried to fight her, it was right after fighting the Berserker King and several other Berserkers. After about the tenth death, I just decided to turn in for the night and try again another time, when I was rested and fresh. Two days later, I gave it another go and beat her on the third try. When I was done, all I could think of was that meme of Harry Potter saying "how dare you stand where he stood?" Because although Gna was tough, she was nothing compared to Sigrun.

This game is definitely going to be game of the year. Because so far all the games this year looks amazing but this is on another level, with the characters graphics, story line and everything...

Finally got her, i'd say second hardest after the berserker king. Definitely a challenge, I recommend surtr armor set to defeat her, well worth the grind at the trials.

One interesting combat situation I found while trying to beat her for the second time, is to be mindful when Gna uses Sigil or Sonic attacks. Keep at least an arrow of the type she is preparing and you can use Freya's square attack, that causes a temporary stun upon Gna. When she says "For Asgard", if she has more than half of her health bar, dodge roll sideways. When she says "for Asgard" but you see a bifrost area on the ground, take a step out of the area and start dodge rolling when the circle has a more pronounced area.

I just finished this boss and got my 100% at the same time. Felt so good as the ending to this game.

I played through this game on Give Me No Mercy 99% of the time until I got to this battle. After constantly getting close to beating her just to die, I ended up lowering the difficulty to finally beat her. Kinda got tired of fighting Bosses for hours and hours until I beat them. Expecially those Berserker bosses. But damn this was the hardest and final boss fight for me.

Man I really made use of the weapon accessories that give you realm shift when activating their L1 plus triangle ability, combined with using Wrath rage that that refilled pretty fast and would greatly increase the permafrost per use. This meant that I had to be super aggressive to keep building up momentum in order to create windows for me to do large amounts of damage in the realm shifts, but it was immensely satisfying. It made for a hell of a fight, I'll probably upload the clip at soon.

By far my favorite boss in GOW as a whole. All around badass and a bit of a pain to defeat. Yet was fun to battle. Finally beat her yesterday.

Finally beat Gna after 7x....dodging the bifrost projectiles took me a bit. Did the berzerker king just before her which took me several hours to beat. That damn blue circle attack got me right at the end sooooo mannnyy times!! Now I can finally enjoy the game 😅. Hopefully a NG+ comes out soon.

This fight is ridiculously difficult if you don't know what your doing. She has the title of "queen" and it's for a reason. Watch her carefully tho and you'll catch on...after a few dozen deaths lol

Found this boss yesterday while looking for the remnants of Asgard and other undiscovered places. Died at least 5 times or so against her, almost always killed me, throwing spikes at me every time I revived. Beat her within a couple of tries. Hope to kill the Berserker King now later today.

After fighting Gna I have to say, I had a much easier time fighting this Valkyrie than I did fighting Sigrun. Maybe I just got lucky but I was able to beat Gna in about half an hour. But I did fully upgrade my weapons, health, rage and gear before hand so maybe that helped a lot. Either way, I’m just glad I don’t have to do this

That rage finish was nice but a few wrath in a row works well with hits in between activation. These fights make you feel badass when all goes well

I beat it just awhile ago, and I will say that its harder than the Valks from 2018 and the Berserker Kings, like damn! Took me several times, and I was already at Level 9! Took me until 3 in the morning just to buff my Kratos All this and I was in "Give me a story" mode, I dont want to know how hard it is in higher difficulty

i love how when the fight is over kratos does a similar animation to when he rips the Valkyries wings off but in actuality is just grabbing them to pin her down so freya can speak to her, and during the fight kratos doesnt say a word because he knows its not his place to speak

Funny how the superbosses of this game isn't meant for Kratos. He's only the weapon, Hrolf was for Mimir and Gna was for Freya.

I got Sigrun PTSD as soon as she showed up. I turned around, upgraded all my stuff to max. Came back and got my ass kicked for probably 3 hours before beating her. And just like with Sigrun before, I Jumped out of my chair when I won. Victory lap around my apartment in celebration
