Godrej Shaving Round - Frank Shaving synthetic faux badger 

I love trying out shaving products from India very affordable and perform great, I used the Gillette Guard and Vi-John shaving cream today have a nice week!

Godrej is a fantastic, no-frills shave soap. The scent is a chalky lavender to my nose.

A work colleague of mine was going to India and I requested him to bring me a Godrej shave cream. He was kind enough to get me three different fragrances of the cream and I was blown away when i used them. They performed exceptionally well. It’s a pity I was not acquainted with their rounds at that time. Thanks for the great review Michael. Take care and be safe .

I totally agree with you the Willams. And I actually lol'd with all the ways people make Williams work. Totally awful for shaving. But I love Williams for a shower soap. Great review on the Godrej Shaving Round. Which is a good little soap. And yeah, Ikon are really nice. God bless.

That was the soap my father gave me with a golden coloured DE razor, Silver Prince blades and Colgate Palmolive shaving brush in 1984. Had no lessons from him how to shave. Got a lot of nicks and cuts. My father, grandfather, uncles all used the puck or stick but Godrej. (Godrej also had a stick) When Wilkinson with a local partner in India came with Wiltedge a twin cartridge all said ditch the DE and go for the cartridge. Had to live with the round till I started earning myself. Since then tried all sorts of cartridges from Gillette and shaving creams but ever knew what caused me those irritating after shave "pimples". (no one told me it was the cartridges that caused it). But Godrej Shaving Cream stayed on as that have me lowest number of aftershave bumps. Then the life went on with electric shavers (Panasonics) and Supermax triple blade disposables. Now back to DE since I have to spend as much as a new Panasonic shaver to replace the foil and cutter. My next visit to India (i live in the UAE) and this good old round is going to be in the shopping list. BTW Godrej is one of the oldest companies in India with a huge portfolio of goods (India grown P&G) soaps, creams, furniture, white goods etc. and even real estate. Greetings form India Michael. Godrej Shaving Round first came in 1938. today it costs INR 22( USD 0.29) , after seeing your video I got it today and had my shave with feather blades. The soap is actually cheaper than my feather blades. You must try Indian artisanal product Trigodon Shaving Soap. around USD11 in amazon. nice slick , excellent post shave feel

Great shave Michael. I would definitely put this soap way above William's mug soap any day. Now it's a different story for the Vintage Williams soap puck which is way better than todays by 10 fold easy. Over in one of the facebook groups I'm a member of is holding Catie's Bubbles week and I decided to participate in this week. Today I went CB's "Knee High To A Grape" which is a really rich and extremely strong grape soda scented soap.

Great shave and review, Michael! A shaving soap that just works and doesn't cost a fortune? What a concept! I tried Godrej shaving soap a couple of years ago. I found the same thing. It provides a reasonably slick, protective lather that provides a nice shave. No, it's not going to compete with $20+ artisan shave soap. It's not meant to do that. And, there's nothing wrong with that. Thanks for bringing us vids of diverse products, not just the latest and greatest! Cheers! -Rob

A jolly good shave, sahib! I must see if I can track down a puck of that particular subcontinental gem. The brush obviously shares much with its natural fibre cousins - it even shes like one LOL.

Another great showcasing of a value soap on your channel Michael, and as ever, a very fair trial of it. I have a few times over the years seen this Indian soap on eBay, but have never ordered it. I might well do after your video. This iKon slant is the daily shaver's slant. I'd say (clearly personal opinion) easily less assertive than the E.Jagger DE89. This Wilkinson Sword blade, I'd say, no more lasting than the standard Derby blades. 2, 3 (if the stars are properly aligned) shaves to a blade and OUT! On water running down your arm, the phenomenon shares something of the occurrence of a quantum event (Copenhagen interpretation). The observer is vital. Likewise, if you ignore the water running down your arm it's not happening :) Thanks for uploading Michael.

Hi Michael. First tried Godrej about two years ago and I agree it is a very good soap. I think I probably paid to much for it as I bought it as I remember from some California middlemen. Even then it was worth it as it is of good quality in my opinion. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.👍 p.s. Just tried some Gillette after shave gel for the first time. At about $2.10 at Walmart I found it very soothing with a touch of menthol. Worked real well on my fair skin.

The cost effective and cheerful Godrej Shaving Round is a surprisingly good soap. Easy to use and certainly worth tracking one or two down on eBay.

Funny, the way you talk about lathering up Williams is the same way some synth/badger users talk about using boar brushes..."You have to soak it in your fridge for 48 hours"

The company that makes Williams Shaving Soap changed a while ago. The formula used in making it changed, as well. From what I've gathered, there is a substantial difference between the lathering and feel results between the old formula and the new one, though the old one is neither to be compared with Wholly Kaw.

Godrej shaving soap retails for 25 cents in India, for that price it's a very good soap.

This is the soap my grandfather used all hi life. If costs about 25-30cents which might make it the cheapest shaving soap in the world.

Better or worse than Arko then? Also, I am so close to get a Razorock Hawk v2. Would you recommend it? I want to combine it with Feather Super Professional blades.

Are they the wilkinson sword blades from India,England or Germany? I have the ones from India and they are great. I know each face and beard is different. I can get 5 good shaves from them.

Nice one Sir! Did you notice the key imprinted underneath the soap puck? It's and inside tribute to Godrej's roots.

Use Gillette super platinum 7'o clock blades. They are the best and super sharp.
