There's only one person on earth that could possibly satisfy me, trying to cover Rob Halford's voice. And, that would be Bruce Dickinson. Only person that could pull it off. But, I have respect for Sully and Godsmack for doing a good job at honring a great band.
Dude! Seriously? VH1 Rock Honors introduced me to Priest, too. It introduced me to metal, frankly! If it weren’t for this Godsmack cover performance, I’m not sure I would’ve realized how “metal” Priest really is. This was a great cover performance.
this was EPIC....and people who say that Godsmack isnt talented clearly have been living in a cave....those guys are awesome musicians...its no coincidence that they are 8x platinum...some know your facts posers
The Alternative Metal kings of Boston, MA. I didn't think Godsmack would do something like this, honoring the legacy of the Gods of Heavy Metal, JUDAS PRIEST!!. \m/
@MrPapaoso42 "No Talent Ass Clown" was a reference to Michael Bolton, "...he's the one who sucks." It's a perfect fit for any music snob and was the intent of the aforementioned comment. Glad you were able to see that. At least you have good taste in movies. All snobbery aside, I agree that no one else does Priest like Priest, and no one should ever pretend that anything Priest done by anyone other than Priest can even come close. Priest & Maiden will always be heads above all others.
@lambsal985 than you man!, I had that song recorded in a cassette in 1994, but I lost the cassette and I never knew the name of the song, you know, in that time there weren't so much facilities as now.
@JamesOhGoodie You are 1000% correct in your statement. I have been a musician for over 20 years and I grew up in the era of Judas Priest. Very few come close to the raw power and lets not even talk about Rob Halford. These guys just ruined classic Metal!
I saw Priest last year in London, and it was still the best gig I've been to (though I'm yet to see godsmack!) They were even better than Metallica. I am also from the same city Birmingham where priest were from, and nothing makes me prouder than how they have influenced music around the world. BUT Godsmack not only nailed this cover and gave it their own style, but created a timeless performance. What I would have given to have been in that crowd. It's time for Godsmack to join the Elites....
sullys no halford but he definately does him justice. im only now realizing how underrated sully is. people like to shit on godsmack but this proves sully is a talented vocalist
@KhabukiJo Yes, You don't care thus announcing yourself a "No One" Whats more, I was touring for large crowds before you were an idea so talk about things you know about please.
FUUUUUCCCCKKKKK YEA, this is freakin good funny to think Godsmack Came From the capital of my shitty home state GREAT JOB SULLY.......Godsmack kicks ass
Thsi Shows You How FK'N Metal Godsmack Is.....It's Hard To Pull Off Judas Priest, But Godsmack Did It and How. I Could Imagine If They Tried THE GREEN MANALISHI.
Hellion. It's usually introed to Electric Eye. I'm just amazed you can understand what Sully is singing in this song. Saw him live and he was drunk as fuck and slurring everything. I won't knock him here... Godsmack did a helluva job.
@Sgthavoc12 , For the record, I don't live with my mom, I have many friends, I own a successful business in a down economy, and I toured for many years as a musician, and your credentials are? I thought so. Your only contribution to this discussion is.................... "Yeah dude, Godsmack rules, yah, They are like ya know? so awesome dude!" and then you wet your pants! You are out of your league so talk about things you know about please.
@Dwayne0567 Yes and Simon Phillips played drums on the "unleashed in the east" tour and is still to this day a world class drummer. He is currently touring with "Toto" and if you know anything about music you will know that those are some large shoes to fill. Godsmack 's feet are way too small to fill any shoes. A pathetic display!
