FILM DESCRIPTION:
Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home. Along for the ride is Jia, an orphaned girl who has a unique and powerful bond with the mighty beast. However, they soon find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla as he cuts a swath of destruction across the globe. This scene proved how emotionally complex Kong is. Unlike Godzilla, he isn't concerned with protecting the balance or anything, he just wants a new home. A place where he can be free. And now he's got it.

Such a good character study of Kong in a way that we've never seen before. For him to go on this journey and discover more of his past and people was really interesting to watch, and even if this is the last time we see this Kong, than I can say for certain that this was a fantastic farewell, my friend!

Ikr. Could Kong's ancestors be bigger? The room certainly looks pretty big. How advance were they? What happened to them? Why do they have weapons specifically designed to counter the Godzilla species?

@@saintricardo8746 I have a theory where it's kind like the Predator story. Young Kongs are tasked to hunt down a Godzilla not to kill it but to defeat it and pull a large piece of the dorsal plate off as proof. Seeing as Godzilla's can regenerate them I guess just see Godzilla as a rite of passage for young Kongs to become true Adults. OR the dead Mega Goji in the room is a big threat to them so they kill him and all the axes surrounding the throne belonged to Mega Goji

What this scene means to me is, King Kong (1933) is one of the most important movies ever made. Kong has returned where all monsters originate from (Hollow Earth) and Kong has a throne waiting for him and is crowned King of that land. Without King Kong, there wouldn't be your Hollywood blockbuster, there wouldn't be Godzilla, or any giant monster. It's King Kong returning home to cinema and claiming his throne as the King of not just monsters, but the original giant monster of film. The original blockbuster movie star.

Even though the 1933 film is outdated by today’s standards, I still much prefer it over the 2005 remake. King Kong (1933) is still fun to watch whereas the 2005 remake is a chore to watch.

@@davidthirugnanakumar7888 No, it was a snooze fest. It’s atrociously paced, overlong, and boring with one-dimensional characters. The CGI in some of the Skull Island scenes is awful and the dinosaur stampede scene was absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention King Kong ice skating.

The Hollow Earth stuff in this movie is so freaking cool! I've been a Godzilla fan since I was three, but never cared about Kong until Skull Island. This moment from this movie officially made me a Kong fan, getting to see him actually become King Kong.

Skull Island endeared me to Kong more than I ever was prior, but despite favoring Godzilla a significant order of magnitude more, I did not even remotely want Kong to be wimpy in this movie or any future installments, & as you said Adam Wingard delivered a great, bad^ss, & fearless Kong, despite losing to Godzilla, plus reeling me in as an official Kong fan.
