These goggles just look like a beta product. It lacks refinement. I will probably get the v2 or V3 of these. For now I'll just stay with the original fatsharks version.
I think your right to,stay with farshark units. These goggles are absolute rubbish I feel sorry for those who purchased them,not real confidence building,Ian's doing there work for them,big thanks you Ian.

Since updating the firmware to 37.xx.x the highest temp I've seen on screen 1 is 57.85 degrees, even after leaving the goggles powered on for 2hrs 20mins. On the previous firmware I was seeing screen 1 reach 70 degrees in 1hr 10mins. So for me there's a definite significant improvement
A lot of trouble to go through for something that should just work. Pay 500 to be our beta tester🤣😂 send the junk back and teach them a lesson on peddling junk.
@@nicklong9985 Yeah, I agree! And they DO work they just over heat which is not recommended for long use. These things happen. I purchased DJI goggles v1 on release and wasn't able to use them until like 7 months later due to that PC driver situation they had going. Many of us were stuck. So I understand where you are coming from. But again it happens. I also own an Audi Q5 that had a recall for cooling engine parts, and that car was not $500 nor did I ask for my money back. I did what they suggested free of charge ..enjoyed it..kept it moving. But I hear you tho. You paid for a fully functioning device with 0 problems expected. Lol
Hi Ian, Watching your videos on the goggles X with great interest. Have got the original ones, and they appear OK. I was going to buy the goggles x, but with all these beta inconsistencies, I thought of waiting a while. Please keep us all advised of these beta problems. Thankyou and Cheers.
I am just beginning my FPV journey and i have ordered these goggles together with a Mobula 8 Walksnail, im hoping i chose the right stuff. Ordered the patch antennas for the goggles as well (even though i don't know if i need it).
I got mine in this week, updated to latest 37 firmware and tested with hdmi input mode with PC and Laptop i dont see any issue but with mobile output the goggle display image for a second and behave weird thing like blue lines, green lines and off right display. This happened when i connect to mobile with hdmi In with PC and laptop it display proper image. I couldn't test with other devices and I don't face any heating issue let's see when i use it with vtx
Damn all these firmware updates. I have 6 quads with wlksnl and I’m tired of having to update all these vtx’s. Mine don’t seem to suffer from these heating issues, it’s cold here, so I might wait to spring to update anything. They’ll have 15 newer versions by then.
I think mine are hotter with 37.42.2. I can say that the temps appear to hold fine until i power a vtx and temps climbed from 48c to 83c in less than 5 minutes.
Hi, thanks for all walksnail reviews, i bought the new goggles X and 1s mini kit and now i waiting the moonlight kit. But i'm having two issues on the goggles... First is the wifi connection... i flashed two times the firmware and isnt possible to start the wifi spot when i power up the goggles, you know if exist any command or debug process to know what happend on it?? And the second is the proximity sensor... isnt working to, i calibrate the proximity sensor but nothing happends when i take off the goggles.. if you can help me with the wifi spot i apreciate it... Thanks for all
My brand new goggles X keeps crashing - UI and buttons lock up after 10 to 20 minutes (ie warmed up) FPV feed still plays in background - another 10 or so minutes and video feed locks up too. Once warmed up it does this every 2 or 3 minutes. Im in the UK - does anyone know where i can get help sorting this issue or replacing these ?
Please tell me how to get a new heatsink. Today i recivied new googles HW version 4.0. I was hoping that if the thermal issue is well known they will send me iproved googles but they don't
I’m having a separate issue concerning the signal bars appearing to fade really fast even though I’m only 100 m out so I’m not flying as much to see if there is a heat issue. Do you recommend that we request the upgraded heat sink regardless of these developments or Would you recommend we wait until it becomes an issue. I’m not sure if caddx will be offering this free upgrade as time goes on. I look forward to your advice.
Since the Walksnail X is under Linux, why not code a request to turn off the HDMI chips when they are not in use? This is possible with the kernel used.
received my goggles this week and i can just tell good stuff about them. Great fitment for my face and amazing colours. Feels like a big upgrade compared to dji v2 buts lets see the upcoming weeks and months how they will perform on a long term
Used my goggles x for the first time today. Took me a bit to get used to the strap and adjusting the diopters ect - Overall I don’t feel like I have any optical issues and was quiet happy with them.

Perhaps Caddx will sort their sh*t out in the next 6 months………… by which time occusync 4 will be out and Caddx’s technology will be back to being 2 years behind DJI. This will rattle the haters but it’s cheap for a reason.
No, the kernel update is not in this. You would need to rename that file and downgrade to get it. CaddX are trying to make a separate kernel update version you can use later
Summer here. 40 C ( 104 ). Goggles ok but VTX lite cannot cope. It overheats a minute or so into a flight and same in standby ( low power mode). Even with two fans I struggle to use betaflight for more than a minute. They really need to put a physical off switch on the VTX.
@@TakeItToTheGround This may be obvious but try to give as much air flow on VTX as possible and if it still overheats contact them because I believe there is a warrenty or return it.
Run in other direction. Anyone saying good things is trying to cover up these abortion of goggles. I posted tonight in offical walksnail forum a photo of mine hitting 83c within 5 minutes of use on this firmware. The moderator responded saying to "just go fly" as if all is well and it's me that is the problem. Then he deleted it and my comment in reply.
@wattage2007 don't recall the name, just that it said moderator. The right screen lost brightness and the color went to hell, which rebooting did not fix, but it came back after cooling off. I have a heatsink coming and for now the firmware update has kept it at bay since the ambient temps here are 30 - 60F most days/evenings when I fly. Summer will be the real test at 95-100F.
