Becky, thank you for being so sweet and loving. This is probably none of my business but after my husband passing away. Part of moving on is taking that wedding ring off. Perhaps you could consider that. I now wear a ring on my wedding ring finger that looks like a wedding band but is has the name JESUS inscribed on it. Since I'm the bride of Christ awaiting my Groom I now consider myself married to Jesus. It helped move on. Maybe you can remove that wedding ring and wear something else in its place, maybe a mother's ring or a birthstone ring. Just wanted to share with you. God Bless You Becky. My husband passed away almost three years ago. God brought me home to Ohio where I grew up. It was exactly the change I needed. Had to grow up and be on my own..I left my son in Florida. We are now closer to each than when we lived in the same house. Listening to you today has reassured me that the right decision was made to make a change. We just lost 7 members in our family in less than a year. Most painfully was the loss of my 19 year old granddaughter from cancer in May. God is help us through this process and may others who are loving us through it. We are looking toward the Lord and thanking him for our future because we are a part of His Story! I understand your great loss. I lost 9 family members last year💔. I’m so thankful God gave us such wonderful people in our lives that were so precious that it hurts so bad when they’re gone💝. I’m so grateful for having them in my life. All the wonderful memories and the knowledge that they are home with our loving creator and savior is comforting. We were truly blessed! @@coffeeonthedeck6258 We are losing a lot of loved ones and colleagues as well, and all of them have been vaccinated😢 my BFF was reluctantly vaccinated to keep her job, and she was diagnosed with extremely aggressive Stage 4 esophageal and stomach cancer. She and her family know it was from the shot 😢 Thankfully it looks like she may beat it, but her oncologist said they’ve never seen an onslaught of cancer patients like they’ve been seeing starting about 8 months back😢 My BFF is only 54 and was extremely healthy. She sees my Dr, and my dr said my BFF was her 5th esophageal cancer diagnoses in less than 5 months, and before then, she hadn’t had one esophageal cancer patient diagnosis in her 25 yes of practice. All of them were vaccinated 😢

I lost my husband to cancer 17 years ago now. He missed our sons 2nd bday by 2 months. Some days are worse than others no matter how long they've been gone, but God is good and never left me alone in my pain.
You were speaking directly to me.. I lost my husband 5 years ago and my son 4 years ago.. I always was living in the past wishing they were here.. my mother lost her partner of 25 years about 6 years ago, she was forced into retirement 2 years ago because of the covid s/d in our state (at age 75), my brother passed this year at age 56 - he lived with my mother most of his life - a very bad codependant relationship but he really helped my mother stay in her house - sadly my mother has the catholic upbringing and of course left that church a long time ago - she thinks she believes in God - but not really. Its truly sad, her depression is beyond my capability of understanding - the darkness in the house, she has always seemed to love to wallow in it - even before all these things happen, Sadly - the rest of us are dead to her - her son was her most favorite person in the entire world - always - he could do no wrong. I just keep trying to lead her to Jesus - Im glad you are doing better - I will pray for you. I can say I can understand the pain of the loss - I try - I know I am not going through it like you are. May God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand. I just always want to wrap people in love like a blanket on a cold day..
The first time that I watched you, I realized that you are special. I love that you let your light shine brightly for the Lord. Even in the difficult times, GOD is GOOD!

My husband went to be with our Lord 11 years ago. We were married a week before I turned 17. I know what you're going through. I know God will continue to lead and help you through this. I'm so truly grateful God was there with me. I'd not gotten through without Him. I remember how unbelievably hard things got. Everything that could break or come apart did. I was broken. But I had people depending on me so I couldn't even give up as much as I wanted to. It took about 18 months until I realized that God had been holding my head under water to make me want to breathe. Just remembering that time brings tears every time. God knew how to help me. He taught me to lean on him and no one else. I finally got to a place where I was grateful that God had given me my husband, my Mom and others. Time goes on and we have to too. This is not our destination. This is only our temporary home. My head is almost above water now. Jesus has took care of me all the way. Many times i wanted to give up but i didnt. I thank God i am still here. The Bible says Jesus is close to the broken hearted. I lost my dear sweet husband after 65 years of a sometimes turbulent, mostly good marriage. Two years after, i lost my precious, oldest son. Two years after his loss, my second son succumbed to cancer, just as his older brother had. It was the most desperately spiritually desolate time in my life. But God my Father was with me in that valley, gave me HIS strength and HIS peace! Looking back, (my own journey to the past) I saw the ways He had been preparing me for those losses, and teaching me the "plan He had for me!" At 85+ years of age, grief is still grief, but God can still use me because He leads me in the way that includes others who need Him. God bless you in your good and faithful ministry.

I was 16 when I got married. My wonderful husband and I had 57 years of great memories, and 4 awesome kids. I lost him 18 months ago tommorow. But I know he is with our GREAT GOD and at some point I will be too! Some days are good and some are not, and that is when I think of you and offer my prayers for you. God bless you!
You preach a better sermon than a great number of ordained ministers I've listened to in my life. 💜 I'm glad the first memory I have of my life, probably about 3 or 4 years old, was of my daddy reading to us from the Bible at night before we went to bed, I'm so lucky & so glad I had my mom and Dad, I miss them every day but I still have The Lord praise be to him.

We’re also coming up on the one year anniversary of losing our oldest son in law. He was only 35. He was saved and we know we will see him again! This year has been tough, but the Lord has carried us through. Sundays are hard. We are all in church together, then have lunch together. It’s just not the same. Love to listen. Your voice is so soothing. Next month will be 5 yrs since my husband died. My depression just keeps getting deeper and deeper. I tell myself that things will be better tomorrow but nothing changes. I live alone. Kids an grandchildren live far off..just pray for me. I am 68 yrs old an just sit here all day.
I was born again in 1999 afrer my husband left me. I struggle still with the loss. We really value those we love and it brings us a lot of joy when they are with us. It is hard to be reminded of what we lost when they are no longer with us. We are so blessed to know God will never leave us and is ever present when we are troubled.

I also lost my husband, 16 yrs ago come March. At first I worked at my job then I had to leave out home together as it depressed me being alone before and after work. I moved in with our youngest child, an adult daughter. After helping each other out day in and day out for 2 years, I was ready to go back home, buy a horse (our dream for retirement) and a couple of dairy goats. Now I'm only lonely when I am not working (from home in my home office) or tending my 7 goats and 2 horses. Since I'm now 68 yrs old I know my busy life can't last , it's been a blessing as long as it lasts.

My husband of almost 38 years went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ a year and half ago. However, God knows how I feel as He and I talk about it. I believe He wanted me to see this video. It hurts and is peaceful at the same time to hear what you said. I have wondered how you got through everything you had to do. I know God just has to carry us when we get so down and lost, but then he does heal us. As a widow God takes care of us. No one is ever ready to become a widow. No one wants to become a widow. We can’t dwell in the past, or it will break our hearts. We have to live in the now, just like you so beautifully said. I am in the same place as you. My husband is 6 years older than me and is slowing down. We have been married almost 50 years. I have the same fears but know that God will be with me just as He has been over my whole life. I will pray for you and please pray for me. I have a feeling that many women are feeling as we do.

As you started up your Granny's driveway I had such a very real flashback of Mom driving up to her Aunt Flori's. It was this dirt gravel path. It went by a big ole tobacco barn, the tobacco fields. The path was narrow with hay along the sides. And then we had to drive up and upon a hill. We then drove in grass. Past her neighbors house and then Aunt Flori's. Pull up the hill a little further, back down and turn (being mindful of the soft spot in the yard). Oh my gracious! This memory was so real. Thank you for sharing this from the LORD. 🤗🙋

I felt worse than empty. Like someone had reached in and snatched the last piece of broken heart from within my chest. So tearfully, I left my memories of what used to be in the rearview mirror, and I returned to my homeplace of now. Even this house feels empty. I was looking for something that wasn't ever there. And it isn't here either. It's in Glory 👼
The old saying, “ You can’t go back home because your family is no longer there. You can’t go back home to your childhood.... back home to the safety and loving arms of family. Back home to the old house which once seemed everlasting. Back home to the escapes of time and memory. Time has erased these things, we make new memories but it will never be the same. I’m 53 and recently went thru this revelation, our family home was sold, everyone moved away or passed. It felt so very lonely so lost. I realized that my home was now the one that seems everlasting to the next generation. That we are the safety net and loving arms for as long as God allows it. The hustle and bustle of family dinners, the big family gatherings for holidays are gone now for us. The kids all grew up and moved away, soon they will have children and it will cycle again. Try and remember this when you feel lost or in need of solace. Many hugs and understanding from me to you .

wonderful message. i have tended to look back to when my husband was alive. lost my parents, both brothers, 2 children, 2 grandchildren, parents-in- law. i tend to remember when all were young & alive. did not envision myself alone in old age. but God is faithful! God is good. and we have the hope, the anticipation, expectation of a glorious eternal reunion.

Thank you. I have cried all through this video. Not from unbelief in CHRIST, but from sadness for you and myself. My husband went home to the LORD last June 30th and for one year my daughter hadn’t left my side except to go to work. I think she has moved forward and I’m feeling left behind, alone. I am just going to have to find a new niche for myself and make new friends. My husband was my whole world outside of CHRIST. I guess I’m just feeling sorry for myself. Try and look at it as an exciting part to your life. You will never forget your husband, but life is now very different. I’m guessing he is still a big part of who you are. If you have health, family, and friends, you are so lucky. Try new groups, volunteering, helping others, as it will enrich your life. I’m sure your husband was a very special man for you to have loved him so much. Go out and tell stories to others on how he was special. It keeps his memory alive and allows you to move through some of the grief.
Dear Becky, what a beautiful message of hope and faith! When I lost my beloved Marm in 2016, I grieved until I wanted to die. That season of grief was the most profound of my life. But I knew the Lord had a plan for me. He opened doors for me to be a caregiver to a lovely couple who have made me feel a part of their family. I have poured all that Marm taught me into service for others. Next month will be my 4 yr anniversary caring for them. The Lord continues to bless and teach me. He is obviously doing so for you and all who trust in Him. Hallelujah! What a Savior!!!

My wife passed on September 22nd, 2021 due to covid. God showed me in the Bible that I must press on toward the mark. Move forward to heaven and Christ. Then God showed me how the Hebrews kept looking back to their bondage. God showed me that one of the first commands God gave was to build an altar to worship him and when we turn back to remember our altar not the bondage. Remember only the lovely gifts God has given us. The goodness, the blessed people he put in our lives. Then look forward and be renewed. He God has spoke to you as he has with me. God's blessed hand be upon you.
Thank you for this video. I needed it so much. My 41 year old daughter passed away last month from MDS a blood cancer. I am having a very difficult time understanding why she had to go through so much and pass away at such a young age. My home is just north of Knoxville. I am currently having to be away from my husband and home to be in Georgia to help my son-in-law take care of my 8 year old twin grandsons. I pray that I can find peace with losing my daughter.

So beautiful. My childhood summers (1978-1988) were spent visiting my dad in Midway Tennessee. It was so far out of town that my stepmother didn’t even have indoor plumbing when she was college age(late 60’s early 70’s). I would walk or ride an old bicycle down dirt and gravel roads to get to Warrensburg Rd and then on to a sweet older lady’s farm to ride her horses. I would ride my horse through the Bible Covered Bridge over the Little Chucky Creek. My stepmom is a descendant of Christian Bible who built the bridge. I can still hear the sound of her hooves on the wood planks. The bridge is now a historic landmark in Greene County and is no longer in use. I would walk through the woods over the mountains to get to my Aunt Ruth’s home. Sweetest lady you could ever meet. The older women in my life in those Tennessee hills had a profound impact on my life and I am so blessed to have known them and to have experienced all I did during the summers. Summertime for me was so different than the rest of my year in Jacksonville, FL. My dad and stepmom, after living in St Augustine, FL for about 5 years, moved back to Tennessee where my dad passed away about 1.5 years later, in 2016. My heart is in those mountains, and those mountain streams. God, through The Great Smoky Mountains, has my heart in His warm, safe, beautiful grip. ❤️
It reminds me of a saying: yesterday is gone and tomorrow has yet to come, so we must live in the now and enjoy this moment. If we don't live in the now we will miss the true meaning of LIFE!!! We all have been through our peaks and valley's and the most important thing is to keep looking UP to God and give our best not our least to family, friends and many others. God knows all, see's all and hears ALL. It was a good thing to go back where you grew up and God blessed you with healings in the process. I thank YOU for this wonderful and beautiful video!!!
Becky, first, I want to tell you how much I enjoy your cooking show. I am alone now and have to do all my own shopping and cooking. It has been very helpful to me. After many years together and a 5 year and 3 month battle with cancer I lost my beautiful wife 2 and a half years ago. Many of your recipes are a real help to me. I am a retired Pastor, so that brings me to my second point. Your personal testimony, your witness, your love of the Lord, and the presence of God 's Spirit is so beautiful and so winsome it is a major blessing to me and, I am sure, to thousands of others. I sincerely thank God for you. My third and unplanned point, has to do with the passing of your husband which I just saw and heard. I totally understand your feeling of loss. I felt like the best 90% of me went to heaven, though knowing what she endured, I could never wish her back from where she is back to here. Maybe one day, I will share more with you, but suffice to say for the moment, I will pray for you in the days ahead, and I know God's Grace, Peace, Comfort, and Love will abound to you. Now you raised a 4th point Christmas day 2 years ago I was home alone and passed out on my kitchen floor and unbelievably was there for 9 days with nothing to eat or drink (which is a miracle) until my older son and his wife came and found me. When the paramedics arrived my blood sugar was 700. Then about a month ago after some routine tests at the Cardiologist's I ended up having a Cath there was more than one blockage, but the one that mattered most was a 100% blockage in my RCA. It is stented and fine now, but when I asked the Cardiologist why I had experienced no angina, he responded because it was the diabetes that caused it and that diabetes masked heart pain. Well that and listening to you had put the fear in me. My purpose for telling you is so that you will know how far reaching your life, your show, and your ministry is. Please unless God leads you to do so, don't ever give up or quit. I know a lot of Pastors who don't count for the Lord as much as you, and I pray God will bless you in miraculous ways you never expected.
This was exactly what I needed to hear. God sent me here. I am going through a period of longing for my childhood home and memories. I went on a trip there and found the same as you. Things are not the same. This message is a real blessing and I thank you for sharing it.

I don't know that this will help, but you might try writing about your depression, whether on paper or simply typing it out. The idea is to get the poison OUT of you.
3:30 in the morning, couldn't sleep, ran across your latest content. I was completely unprepared for what you gave me, aimed directly at my ragged core with every single thing I needed to hear. Something led me here tonight. I have been in a state of despair, and this testimony resonated with me in a profound way that I can't explain with words. I have also gone back home, left feeling like I was missing something, and this kind lady just explained why in the clearest, most heartfelt way. I have NO one left but my sister, and she's several years older than I am. I have been desperately hanging onto the past in my mind -- reliving memory after memory. It hasn't helped. You can’t physically touch them, but they are Alive & Well in Every beat of your heart,& you are Wealthy to have so many!!! I’m sure they All want you to Live Joyfully each day you have remaining,& not in deep sadness over those who got to go Home to their Promised Reward, where they struggle no more!!! Thank you! I needed to be reminded of this! I lost my husband, it will be 3 years, 3 days before Christmas and my Mom followed 4 months later. I've been grieving for what was and have been stuck in the past at times. I realize as long as I remain there I am preventing the Lord from bringing new blessings to my life. Thank you for sharing your story. I find myself in the late stages of my life. (stage 4 cancer) And a desire to go back home to the mountains of WV. But after listening to your story. ,"I get it"... I need to let the past go. The only Home I need to seek is the Lord house. Again thank you and be Blessed.
What an amazing and encouraging lesson and message the Lord laid on your heart, not just for your benefit, but for those of us who find ourselves in the final season of our life, longing for the "good old days". The past cannot be relived, but the memories do live on, reminding us of where we have been and how far we have come. Thank you so much for sharing this journey and God's message of hope with us.
There will be opportunities to share with the younger generations who have no wisdom on how getting by in hard times was done...how we got by and what life was like.They tried to wipe out the old and ancient wisdom by distancing.. the wisdom in nursing homes, using euthanasia, medical protocols that end life on their time line and remember the Bible did tell us about these times and the scorpion in Revelation 9:10-11.

Thank you for sharing you going home. I lost my husband of 40yrs last Nov to covid. I became a Christian when I was 12. In a little country church in Alabama. Just like you talked about on a little country road. Where my grandmother lived, I loved her so much. My parents have died and lots of family members. Nothing is the same anymore. My kids have grown up my son stays with me. But my daughter and grandkids live in London. I'm just like you talked about holding on to the past. I'm trying to move forward but it's so hard. It was meant for me to hear this, I hadn't let go of past memories, I didn't want to let go of people, place or things I knew I had my place in the future, God's loving arms. Becky this brings back alot of memories for me those were the good old days when we really did not have anything just a momma and daddy that worked so hard to take care of our basic needs we were warm in winter and never went hungry thank you mom and daddy.
Oh Becky, my ancestors are from the KY Appalachian Mountains. I have lived without running water, raising a garden, and with an outhouse...even in the early 1970s. I cherish those times. They were some of the most peaceful times of my life. I learned that, although convenient, I don't need running water, a bathroom or even electricity to be at peace and happy. I have all the "finer" things in life and then some; however, I have learned that doesn't bring peace of the soul nor nurture it. I can survive without the finer things, but not without peace in my soul. I feel God reaching out to me and calling me. Hopefully I can find my way back to Him...I'm trying. Thank you for the precious gift of God that you are to those of us needing your ministry.
Dear sweet Becky, Thank you so much for your message. I was touched deeply. My mom passed 2 1/2 years ago. She is with Jesus and is Happy, young and healthy now. She lived with my husband and I for almost 7 years. There is an empty chair at the kitchen table. God has BLESSED us to have had her in our lives for so long. She lived on earth a little over 98 years. She and daddy raised my sister and I in a Christian home. God has given this message to you to pass along to others as well as a message for you. Thank you for sharing! My 1st husband passed in 2014 and left me with 4 kids. Life changed and has not been the same (yes, no more dinner around the table). Three of my kids are young adults now and I've remarried. I recently celebrated an anniversary in the Smoky Mountains. The mountains always remind me of how great God truly is!

Becky, I am also learning to walk on alone. My beloved went home to his Lord in 2010 after 53 years of marriage. The Holy Spirit undertakes for us and becomes so real and precious. He cares and sustains the widow. God will reveal more of Himself to you. Love and prayers, Barbara.

I too have an empty nest, and one of my sons passed away 2 years ago. I'm divorced and live alone and often find myself longing for past days when all my family was together. Bless you dear sister. Becky, sweet sister, that was beautifully said… There is a reason or a season for everything. People come in and out of our lives to be blessed or to be a blessing. Our past shapes us…we generally don’t see anything wrong with it, it just is how it is. Kids are resilient that way. They find joy in the moment, in the smallest ways. I think that is why most people like to hear kids playing outside. It reminds them of their own childhood. Thank you for taking us along on your memory walk. Life goes on. Even when we don’t want it to. We have to put something down if God is to put something new in our hand. Cherish the memories and put them away in their little box in your heart. Be grateful for what was and for what will be. You have a blindfold on and hear Father’s voice say, “Becky, keep walking toward me” and you do because you trust him. That’s all we need to do. We are very, very, very close to going to the place prepared for us. I hope you see the season we are in. The finish line is right there and we are all exhausted but ITS GOING TO BE WORTH IT. Several years ago, I took a trip to visit my childhood memories of my paternal grandparents house. I was shocked at the condition, to where it was unrecognizable. It brought me to tears. I continued on my journey and everything I remembered had been torn down and no longer existed. There was a city park that had been turned into some developmental businesses. This broke my heart. This park was down the street from my grandparents house. You could see the baseball field from my grandparents backyard, before they developed that area. So, I learned that you can’t go back in time. Now my fondest memories has been shattered. I wish I hadn’t taken the journey back into time. Take care and thanks for sharing. God Bless you.
