YAY!! Fantastic video :) You are so amazing at editing I don't know how you do it, all the clips were perfectly placed. This movie is such a great romance movie, even though it is a comedy but it really does a great job capturing the love between these characters and how they change throughout the movie. The best is when they first meet each other and check each other out that just makes me smile. They both sort of need each other to bring out their best qualities which is really cool. Plus I love a good almost kiss in a movie hehe. I never even thought about the clothing part! Which is surprising because of love costumes, I think you are right it totally brings another level when she tries on his jacket and a leather jacket is just iconic in itself. It just screams cool and independent! I agree with you that I would have liked the ending better if she would have gone with him and then they could have had some fun adventures, it would have made her story arc even stronger. Bill Pullman did such a great job in this film. Just such a great movie that you can watch over and over!
The movie holds a special place in my memory. I saw it when I was really young and I thought it was one of the funniest things I’d ever seen. But I agree, the romance is classic too. That was one thing that my child self didn’t pay as much attention to though. I was more focused on silly things like dark helmet and Barf to give any thoughts to the love story lol. The romance isn’t too deep or complex but it works. I think because the writing is pretty on point and Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga really got the tone and the essence of their characters. That moment when they first see each other is so great. The expression on their faces says it all. Now that’s acting!
@@EverydayTapeIts such a funny movie, Mel Brooks is such a genius! So many great parts in the film that make me laugh plus I was such a big Star Wars fan it just made everything funnier. The jammed part is so great. Yes such great acting!! Maybe they picked better actors back then but its rare these days to find a pair where you are rooting for the guy and the girl! And even though Princess Vespa was a brat you still like her. :)
They don’t make movies the way Mel used to make em, that’s for sure. He had a style all his own. There were so many moments from the movie that I wanted to put in (like the radar getting jammed lol) but I couldn’t find the spot for it. Oh well. Maybe I’ll make a sequel video one day lol
I love the romance between these two even if it is supposed to be parody levels cheesy, but somehow it's not and I really want them together. Like I'm always watching like hehe but wait until he meets the princess, and that never seems to get old. Like when they see each other for the first time and they both think the other person is attractive but they can't say it (gotta save face right?) Lone Star is everything Vespa needs, I mean Prince Valium is so boring, and Valium doesn't even care who the princess is. It's like someone told him you're getting married and he was like ok... and didn't even bother finding out who his bride would be. Whereas Lone Star likes the real her even if she is Spoil'd Rottin'. But I don't think she really is rottin, I think she just needed some other people on the same wavelength to feel sane. Or maybe I'm looking waayyy too much into it.
I love the cheese of it all! It’s partly those two actors that make it work too, I think. Great chemistry. They understood the tone the whole affair needed to have it make sense. And that moment when they first see each other…perfect! Bravo 👏 movie. Those two belong together. We all know it. May the Schwartz be with them lol
@@EverydayTape Yeah I really love Daphne Zuniga, I used to be obsessed with The Sure Thing with John Cusack, I thought she was really funny in that. She is really likable so you want to root for her. I also think Vespa would renounce her title and go off with Lone Star doing something that's more exciting. Being a Princess just seems too boring for her.
I never got around to seeing The Sure Thing, which is strange because I like John Cusack a lot. I don’t even know what it’s about lol. I’m guessing if spaceballs was made now she might renounce her title but back in the 80s they wanted to stick to the fairy tale/fantasy of it all.
