Ayo Calvin at 9.22 you hear that howl or beep is what i call it. Any idea what that is? Under full acceleration in higher revs. I have the same. And did you ever have any oil pump problems? As they seem to go earlier than normal on these engines? Also.. Do you know if due to dual port injection, the carbon build up is less to non existent? I have a stage 2 7R since 3 months. Im absolutely happy with it. Might go stage 3 next year. Goals. Thanks for your or any others time. Greetings from Amsterdam.

@Jack ///M240i i got 4.4 stock on a mk7, 3.9 with a jb1 with everything totally stock, even had a full tank with a boot full of pram and 2 baby seats.

@@brucewayne2397 I'd check those numbers, your not doing 3.9 with a JB1. But you can go ahead and believe what you want. Way too many videos of people timing their Golf R's with a Stage 1 tune which is better than a JB1 and averaging around 4.2. And the stock R is around 4.7.

@@vroomgc nob head im draggy verified lol come see me at draggy times, iv done a 3.7 since just with jb1 and that was slightly uphill on a 1.55% slope so i know i can go lower as that was spinning too.. VERIFIED! :) Lol anyone who does a 4.2 with a map has something wrong with there car as thats poor for a golf R.. i can do 3's in the wet now with new tyres. You clearly don't know what your talking about maybe go on the forums before you talk rubbish on the internet dragywars.co.uk/#/ Click stage 1 then 0-60 lol Enjoy

That is pretty much what mine does and it is only stage 1. APR tune, Invidia Q300 cutback system sitting on 380hp and 500nm.

Great results.. A Golf R has got to be the ultimate daily especially after a few mods. Shame they are so common... that's the only reason I'd never get one. Great video 👍

Stock Golf R (DSG) will do 0 - 60 in 4.7 Stage 1 Golf r (DSG) will do 0 -- 60 in 3.7 (even a JB4 is pulling these results) That said Stage 2 will give a bit more top end but less performance for your money than a stage 1.

Alex Shnaider On OTS maps peak torque maybe close between stg 1 and stg2 but torque curve is much “fatter” on the latter. A custom stage 2 will even make a decent bump in peak torque compared to stage 1. That said stg 1 is best bang for your buck

It's probably worth buying a stock R, wrapping it up in a blanket for 15 years then bringing it out and it'll be worth a mint. So many R' s are getting 're mapped and modded they'll be none left in 15 years!!. . Look at the prices of the mk4 unmolested R32... the mk7 R' s are future classics but sadly they are a victim of there own success... look at the mk1 mk2 GTE astra and nova SR, so many ended up with big bore 4 and lowered springs then finished off in a hedge... now look at the prices of original examples.

for every day car, do u prefer the stage 2 or stage 3 with the bigger turbo?

akie papageorgiou for every day driving Stage 2 without meth on a stock turbo is perfect. Although I absolutely love Stage 3, it is a bit much all the time, pops and bangs on this one are a lot more subtle as well which is quite nice for daily driving.

@@CalvinsCarDiary ive got a mk6 golf r stage 2 now witch im selling, and buying either mk7 or 7.5 R any suggestion? but def going stage 2 min but thinking about may b going straight to stage 3 with may b a hybrid turbo, turbo technics v4, i just don't want it to lagy and i like the down low power but i like to have that crazy top end too
