This medley is really something special!
This is the most sweeping, orchestral music I've ever tried recreating. I almost stumbled into it! Once I did "Something," with my drums tuned and dampened for 1969, I figured why not tackle more "Abbey Road" stuff? And seriously, what's more challenging or interesting than the medley that closes the album?
What a gorgeous series of songs. Goosebumps.
Two highlights. The piano playing by McCartney is stunning. The isolated tracks revealed some highly technical (and possibly improvised) riffs that were insanely fun to recreate. I have no idea how he sang at the same time.
Also, hats off to Cinematic Studio Brass and Solo Strings! I bought both on sale on Black Friday, and wow, they sound gorgeous. New possibilities for recording songs with brass and strings abound. I will certainly post the isolated strings and brass. All are welcome to use it.
Also, I wanted to spotlight the Hofner despite knowing that George played either a Fender VI or Jazz bass, directly injected, on Golden Slumbers and Carry That Weight. I think I got the sound pretty close though!

- Gibson Les Paul (George Harrison leads)
- Epiphone Casino (John Lennon leads)
- Fender Telecaster (Paul McCartney leads)
- Hofner CT Series bass (Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight)
- Rickenbacker 4003 Bass (The End)
- Cinematic Studio Brass - all brass
- Cinematic Studio Solo Strings - cello/string parts
- Yamaha P121 keyboard - piano
- Ludwig Classic Maple 20/12/14 Black Oyster Pearl (dampened with tea towels). Floor tom towel removed for "The End."
- Gibson G45 acoustic guitar (Her Majesty)
- Beatles drumhead from Russ Lease at www.BeatleSuits.com
- Drums recorded via PreSonus Studio 1824C Interface (drums: 5 microphones used)
- Drums mic'd with Cad Audio Stage7 7-Piece Drum Microphones (micing toms, snare & bass drum)
- Drums recorded and mixed with PreSonus Studio One
- Shure SM57 (under hi-hat, all other instruments)
- All instruments except drums recorded on Audacity via a USB soundcard on an HP Pavilion
- Guitar Amp: Vox Mini3 G2
- John's rhythm on "The End" sound achieved via Aclam DR. ROBERT Vox UL730 Pedal.
Video Equipment:
- Camera: Canon M50
- Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro on HP Envy 32'' All in One

The thing that strikes me today about these sublime recreations is ... relaxation ... it's just so joyfully and effortlessly _relaxed_ . And the instruments are all glistening and polished ... it's like ... everything is right in the universe for five minutes and fifty-four seconds.

The sequence is Paul, George, John. Their styles are very different. Trivial note: They rehearsed a bit, then recorded the guitar solo section in one take.

Hi Michael, your covers of beatles songs are excellent. I hope you go on to record every one of their songs. I also think you should post every single isolated instrument video of each track of every song as well because I think it would serve as the greatest video tutorial library for performing beatles songs ever created. Geez Louise!! Aside from overall awesomeness, I learned something. For example, I never realised there were two simultaneous drum parts in some places, but far more amazing, I never realised there was still just a simple drum kit, and not some complicated drum kit by this point...still just two toms...yet all that sound! Those are minor points, the major one is…WOW! Deeply appreciated, just so cool...! ps I can't quite place your physiognomy, nor the view out your window, so I Googled your surname....it says Canadian or...Ukraine. Dare I ask...is the second one of those correct? Obviously don't answer it you don't want, but it is kind of interesting if so...

This may be the best fan recreation of the End. You actually used the right guitars for each player. Though Paul used a Esquire, the telecaster is the best thing to it. Great attention to detail.
