Thanks for all the information We will be travelling from Interlaken to Montreux in June 2024. Will buy First Class Swiss Travel Pass of 15 days for our entire trip. For this route of GOLDEN PASS train do we need to pre book our seats?

You’re very welcome. The cheapest price for a Swiss travel pass is on the link we have added in our description I believe. Here is the link again: gyg.me/TknlzK4o Please remember you don’t need a first class pass to use the golden pass route. The only difference with a first class will be you get to sit in first class carriage. For the golden pass express, we didn’t pre book our tickets but the train was super busy. We were lucky to get seats. I would recommend reserving seats if you are going in busy period. It’s not necessary though ☺️

Hello, I’d like to ask if I book from the golden pass prestige website do I only book the seat and I have to purchase another ticket or it’s the same?

Hello, if you have a Swiss travel pass then I recommend going to their office in Montreux station where you can upgrade to first or prestige class. That way you only pay for the upgrade. I am not sure if website will allow you to do this. Alternatively if you have a second class pass and want to stay in second class then you don’t need to pay anything or reserve a seat. You can just go in same with if you have a first class Swiss pass and want to travel in first class. Hope that makes sense

Hello! Help please. My mother uses a wheelchair or cane.. because of train timings, we need to take the Express rather than the Panoramic (which is supposedly the wheelchair friendly one) Do you recall if there were huge steps to board the train? She can walk up steps assisted by nanny... Thank you! ❤

Hello, you can ask for assistance by the workers on the train stations and they can support your family. I am not sure which express train your referring to sorry

Hi suppose I bought my Swiss pass, how do I reserve the seats Also I’m there for 12 days so I’d first class Swiss pass better or second as I’m traveling with family so 4 people, difference comes around 1000 CHF

Hello, You do not need to reserve any seats. You can just get on to the trains. The only place they recommend you reserve seats is the Belle Epoque and Grand Train tour. Again it’s not necessary, it’s just these trains tend to be busy and in order to avoid disappointment it’s recommended to reserve seats either online or from Montreux station. We didn’t reserve any seats. In terms of first class versus second class, there is really not much difference. hi , its to reserve seats as there is more crowed in these days and hard to find place.its good if you have first class otherwise you may need to upgrade in some cases.

As mentioned in my earlier message it is recommended that you reserve seats in popular train rides like Belle Epoque during high season which is now but it should be fine after summer. It’s not mandatory and purely dependent on luck of the day and how many people are travelling
