Well... there's no actual evidence in this clip that she "drinks" it... yes she puts it to her mouth and takes some water in her mouth but then the clip ends. Obviously she then off camera releases/spits the water back into the glass
@@Alextoorbo1 why are you asking me this? The goldfish will go on to live it's very short existence back where it was originally living. Would like to think just a typical bowl/tank instead of the jug it started in in this video. But yeh, first world problems when you consider what's happening with Ukraine at the moment and the brink of world war 3 around the corner. Can't really be arsed wasting any more time on this video other than correcting the person's original comment for their poor observational skills 🤣
My Interpretation: The video is about the reception of celebrities. Most celebrities (portrayed by the goldfish) don’t have to say anything. POPPY draws the connection between stars and one of the most vulnerable and useless pets you can have. They’re literally trapped in the shallow water. POPPY plays the part of the receptionist/ the audience. She transfers the fish into an even smaller jar than before where it now doesn’t have any possibility to move. The audience prevents the celebrities from there ability to take action (in this case to move). The imagery of the glass can be interpreted even further as it is a container made for direct consume. Now we come to the actual reception: POPPY stares at the fish. The audience watches the star. She starts to imitate it (which she does very well by the way). This means that the audience picks up on the shallow and unprogressive behavior of the celebrities which is an endless circle because it’s the audience that trapped the stars into this situation in the first place. However POPPY does hint to a possible breaking of the circle by drinking the water. The audience consumes the life essence of their celebrities. The question that POPPY leaves up for interpretation is: What happens in the end? When when all the water has been drunk and the fish has choked to death. Will the audience imitate this new behavior as well and destroy themselves? Will they start to act independently? Or will they just get themselves a new fish? After all I think the video is an appellation for more critical reception of pop culture. POPPY forever !!!
@@-khushlush maybe 😉 But in my opinion art doesn’t have the job to be deep. That’s the duty of a good audience. Like interpreting the meaning of life into a goldfish’s dull movement… She is the reason for me to get up every morning. That’s the least I can do in return.
I think she’ll start talking soon. Maybe like later or something. I hope so because it’s my favorite part because her voice is really beautiful and calming.
PSA goldfish can't survive in bowls, they need pretty huge tanks (Obviously this case it isn't living in the pitcher don't come at me I just used to work in a pet store and saw so many people not know this)
Poppy eu lhe amo tanto! 🍡
Poppy I love you but it’s not ok to put animals at risk for the sake of art!!! Stress can kill a fish and being in a small bowl and poured into a glass is not ideal!!!
@@Lukamagnottafan16 yeah dude I care. Just cause it's "just a fish" doesn't mean we shouldn't treat them with care. Would you abuse a dog? No? Then why is ok to abuse a fish? Plus she's famous and what she does influence others which promotes that it's ok for goldfish to be treated this way.
@@Lukamagnottafan16 wow how edgy of you. So cool you don't care what happens to animals 🙄 it's called empathy. I know it's a strange concept cause you apparently lack it
Ok just a thought on what this could mean, but since she's wearing a black dress maybe she is representing death, and pouring the fish from the large empty pitcher to the small glass may simbolize death. Maybe the fish had a very unfulfilled life and once it is in the glass there is more water even though it's smaller and different. And there's a whole thing about how "death mocks us", which she does by making fish lips. She might've "mocked" the fish because it was ignorant and thought it needed such large things in life that it failed to realize all it really needed was to be surrounded by water, which it didn't really have in the pitcher because the water was so spread out and shallow.
