Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Grips - Real or Fake?! Let's see if you can tell 

They perform fine. I'm sure I bought the fake ones since they were from eBay. Replaced slippery, years old, dry but authentic grips. Shot my season best shortly after. Also played a different round in a severe storm, they were fine. Saved $60, even considering that I paid golf galaxy to install them. Bought a mint forged Fourteen wedge on ebay with the savings. If the grips suddenly combust into flames, I'll update my comment.

After 6months it’s easy to tell the difference. The golf pride are Hard and shiny but the fakes are still grippy and nice in the hand. It’s incredible how bad the real ones are. I am talking from real life experience.

I bought some fake ones recently for my irons. They are Mizuno MP60s 3-PW and were in relatively poor shape so got them for £110 (normally be looking at minimum £200+ for them in good condition). I have managed to restore and polish them to a decent level and decided to knowingly put some fake grips on them. Why? Because the idea of putting £130 worth of grips on a set of clubs that cost £110 seems a bit mad to me. Don't get me wrong, the genuine article is significantly better quality but if all you want is "good enough" then the fakes fit the bill. In terms of performance, they are similar when new, but the fakes wear a hell of a lot quicker than the real grips. If you have a set of irons that cost you £1200+ or a driver that cost £400+, don't be cheap there as the real grips are a lot better overall. But if you bought 2nd hand and just want a set of gamers for not much money then the fake grips are perfectly adequate.

The thing is the fakes are 25% of the price so unless you're spending 500+ it's mad to spend so much regripping an old set of irons with grips that are so expensive. I've bought some fakes for a lot cheaper to regrip a second set of irons and they work well. I'm a 15 times a year golfer. The weights on the fakes are very variable though

No weekend player, regardless of handicap, will notice a difference during play.

The real ones have more of a mushroom cut at the top grip cap and are softer feeling than the fakes, along with having brighter colouration and less of a bad smell. The fake ones still work ok as I got sucked into buying fakes on eBay and already got them installed on my irons. My wedges have the real ones installed. But I'll switch over to using real ones for everything, eventually.

i use the fake ones all the time...$30 for a 13 grips....I change my grips every 6 months which is about 60 rounds of golf. I'm a low handicapp and I guarentee you 99% of golfers won't notice any difference. I wash them with soap and water every 2 weeks and they stay nice and tacky.

The big difference seems like how the cords are not very neatly put into the rubber for the fake one.

I'm using a set of Dunlop irons, probably worth £30 and I'm more than happy with the 9 knock off Golf Pride grips I got for £25. Aint no way I'm spending 100 on grips

I just got some grips from Wish. Pretty sure they are fake but they look pretty good. Another way to tell is where the color meets the black. The fake will have some of the color coming through whereas the real will be solid black.

Fake has more cord, smells like paint thinner and has a smaller imprint on the butt end. They are very good fakes tho. Not sure size and weight wise.

Under the "Golf Pride" logo real one has 3 marks, fake one has 5.

Don't buy off eBay. I picked up a couple just to see and they are clearly not legit. The size isn't even correct. I play midsize and they were definitely standard. Color was off and so was the pattern.

Also the cords in the fake one are not as clean and straight.

In Sweden 2 reals cost the same as 13 fakes. 65 dollar for 2 vs 13 and after to lissen to coments its will be easy 🙂

After installed, is the diameter of the fake ones smaller than the real ones? I have seen that on other videos and websites that the fake ones are thinner.

How did the fakes play? I got some from eBay and they refunded me after it was shown they are inauthentic, but I have 13 fake grips now and I hate wasting things

is it possible these fakes are factory seconds? how was the thickness. did you have to add wraps?

So what's the point in buying genuine when you can save money and they feel the safe and give the same performance?🤣
