A few weeks ago I bought a speed stick with three weights of Pure2Improve, similar to Rawspeed. I used the training level 1 protocol of Superspeed (another brand) and trained 2 times in the past 2 weeks. This morning I trained for the third time at my weekly golf lesson and my driver speed jumped from 114Mph last week (without an overspeed drill) to 124Mph today directly after the speed training drill. That is f*cking AWSOME (for a senior golfer)! I do feel a bit bruised and my personal trainer recommended not to do this drill more than 3x per week, as does Superspeed recommend.
Started training to get my fitness back after a couple years off training. As a short hitting mid HC I’m going to have some lessons and start speed training also. If golfs my only sport May as well base my training round it 👊🏼. Thanks for the content keep up the great work 👏
My only regret is not watching this video months ago! Very informative. I have the launch code overspeed trainer. Definitely going to use the speed pyramid and the one handed warmups
You inspired me to get out the and go for the long ball. You have shown me how to gain... with that said, my driving range is only 325yd. I'm at the edge of the tree line and sometimes in. Thanks for you help, before could only get it to 275yds.
Thank you. I'm almost 60 years old and could use the help. I think I'll use my sand wedge as the swing trainer as I'm on a bit of a budget right now. Cheers.
#inneedforspeed Great video, those tips are so unbelievably valuable.. Creating speed and using the groundforces is what the golf community has to accept as a main goal in this sport to be more competitive and to have a long lasting healthy swing. Let's go Martin, the content is great!
great stuff i will put this system to work tonight i hit 267.6 carry 105 club 158 ball 19 launch 2123 spin and 151 smash with range balls keep you posted after one week thanks for sharing
thats is amazing i seen guys hit 155 mph over 30 years ago..busting wood requires both directions to bust in one lick why us country boys was like BULLS back in day
Imagine you’re at the driving range and at the 250 yard bullseye there’s the world long drive champion just filming a RU-vid video in the middle of the range 😂
You are obviously a very big, very strong guy. What, in your opinion are the muscles which need to be developed in order to swing faster? I'm not talking 155 MPH - I'm just talking 115 or so.
Martin, about a year back you made a video where you mentioned wanting to test radar Vs GCQuad to see the differences. Were you able to run any of these tests? The one I’m most curious about is the clubhead speed measurement. I have a GCQuad, and would like to know roughly what my clubhead speed would measure on a Trackman. At roughly 150mph clubhead speed on GC Quad, do you know about what the Trackman would read?
Really interesting, I will definitely try this. I only play with one arm (right arm, RH play) and I carry around 240 but I am in terrible shape and never worked on speed. I wanna get my body in shape and do this swing speed training, I am curious how far I can push it. I never worked on speed as I was hitting it long enough to GIR everything anyway (just theoretically, by distance i mean.. **ehem, cough cough**).
I'm 69 and had many swings on TM today at 108mph. And no coaching, weights or speed training. Funny enough, my carries only went about 255 and total distance of 270-275. Guess maybe I need to hit somewhere the center of the ball and without a 8% cut swing! 😜
Being tall is definitely a big factor all tho at 5 10 swing has gone from 120 to 130 max. long drive definitely compliments your game, but you better be good at chipping and pitching. Because you'll find yourself within 100 but struggle.
John 3:16 KJV 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The Resurrection of Christ 15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
I would like to start working on speed but had some back injuries in the past and I am not sure if this will be too much. Do you think this might work for people like me or senior golfers?
Being a senior golf who had back surgery 14 months ago, I say go for it. Ensure you're strong enough and flexible enough. Then have at it! Good 🤞 Luck.
Hi Martin. Thanks for the vid. Any chance of a follow up one on which muscles will be good to train with a demonstration please. I am 52 now and swinging it at average 100mph and want to increase to 110mph. I am sure getting the right muscles built up will also assist. Your thought maybe. Regards Shaun
I’m not as big nor as ripped but math, my Asian ass can do….. 175 yards per swing, that will get you on par for -10 easily every time you play. Bombing it down the fairway is always fun.
I am built like Martin (5'9" Not a giant like him) it is natural. Hormone guys get stupidly vascular and skin looks like it will rip. Using steroids would be detrimental as the tendons and ligaments do not get strengthened and the muscles overtake the tendons/ligaments causing chronic injury.
