Great job Martin…I’m loving learning from you and Bryson then try and modify what you young studs do for a 65 year old new golfer with new knees! This is all about finding my new norm using safety, fun, and learning in that order! Good stuff!
Thank you for taking the time to make this content. This is extremely informative. Thank you for listening to your viewers and reading comments. This is exactly what we were asking for!
I'm 56 and you and the regecy boys have inspired me to get back in shape. So far I've lost 15kgs and gained 20yds with the driver and 10yds with the irons
Superb video! I’ve not long started golf and my driver speed is stuck at 135-140, This workout and the way you put it across has inspired me to visit the gym to get to bigger numbers! Well done 👍🏻
Martin, great content and great exercises! You help remind me to be explosive with my workouts! Very inspiring 💪 My next long drive event is coming up soon. Last time I got 314, the goal is 320!
Yes you have motivated me. I’m 55 at the gym. My legs hurt like hell. But my first two competitive rounds I’ve hit shots distance wise I haven’t hit since my early 20’s. I want 110mph driver speed. I’m at 104 now from 96 mph in February. I also hit more aggressive shots. Golf is now fun again.
I am doing heavy compound exercises since 10 months now and have increased my clubhead speed by more than 10mph. Martin inspires me a lot to continue this hard work 3 times a week. Insane content of your vids. Luv it.
Thanks Martin. I’m a former college athlete who let myself get out of shape. Bryson, Hogan, and yourself have motivated me to make my body better and produce the outcomes I want. Shooting for single digit handicap this year! Thanks for everything and keep it up!
Fitness is definitely just as important as any of the clubs in the bag. Now that's not for everyone. Obviously there's the John dailys of the world. But as a whole, the better shape your in specifically with the movements related to the golf swing, the better you'll be able to outlast the competition. Solid vid!
I workout 3x per week, but in-season more on mobility and cardio, because strength training comes with a short-term cost: muscle aches and loss of touch in golf. I retested my speed yesterday and the performance decay was actually less than I expected mid season. I plan to focus again on strength and speed at the end of October/November till februari probably, when pre-season prep starts.
Martin, great content as always. You are definitely a rare breed in golf… highly intelligent, approachable, and can back it all up in spades 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Come on people… invest in this man… time to subscribe!!! Cheers 💪💪💪💯💯☝️☝️✊✊🤙🤙✌️✌️🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥
thanks martin! inspiring as always. i was into running, weights and cardio as well as golf. i like the way you and the regecy guys bring it all together!! PS. how do you not hit yourself in the nuts with those kettlebell moves? haha!
Awesome exercise indeed! Been doing these in a 3 day split (Mon: Squat, Wed: Bench, Fri: Deadlift) combined with some other flexibility movements for a while now. Would you advice repeating this workout 3 times a week instead? Thanks!
You can kind of replace kb swings and shoulder pressing with kb snatches...I've found squats and kb snatches to have the most carryover in general to swing speed
Good content! I would like to challenge something a little bit. The explosion is great you need that. I have set up a training for myself from what I know as a football coach (soccer for you americans) and we also need endurance to make high explosive runs when needed for 90 mins or more. One thing I do and I have been seeing speed gaining is low weight high reps that is for endurance but in that making sure everytime is explosive. This would reference back to another video where you talked about trying to not tire out near end of long drive. you can do these then tail in the speed training right after. when you are tired this will make you body work harder but don't over do it. Also if you do heavy you work different muscles and need to work fast twitch muscles that makes speed. So go heavy like you said for 5 reps and directly after that go light for 8 reps using explosion to get your fast twitch muscles working this creates speed from fast twitch muscles working faster because of less weight. I hope you understand this. I am no where as fast as you just using my knowledge of the body and training players to be explosive through football and applying that to golf. Lean muscle is faster then big muscle, but big muscle is more powerful then lean and I believe you can have both to create the perfect storm. which is what I am working on developing for my golf swing. again thanks for your ideas and love watching you play the course and hit the ball all over the course like normal people! LET"S GO!!!
Wondering what you think of power cleans? That's my favourite. Explosive compound movement involving quads, posterior, lats and delts, all muscles used in the golf swing.
Hey Martin. I never been to the gym and I am a bit afraid that it will make me slower the next day. I am working on some MAT with a therapist. I would highly recommend using chapters in videos like these to help keep them organized and make it easier to skip to a part when doing that exercise. I was wondering what CNS stands for? Thanks.
Have you ever tried Olympic lifting to increase your dynamic power? I've been training body building style for a few years now and found a huge increase in my distance once I got the basics of the Olympic lifts.
Strange observation. If i haven't been able to hit golf balls for few weeks or even months, the next day after practice i will assess which muscles are the most sore presumably previously worked the most. Typically it's Hamstrings\Glutes possibly from sgl leg lunge \squat to tee\hand rake a ball and next surprisingly are the inner thigh or Adductors from pelvis rotation.
I recon i could increase your club head speed with some interesting exercises. Love what you are doing on your channel and Regecy. Im a PT from scotland so if you ever visit would love to talk shop
@@MartinBorgmeierLD I can understand but there is science and theory behind the correct strength and conditioning in conjunction with actual swing Training. Would love to have a chat but. Keep doing what you are doing though. Love the videos 🔥🏴
Extrem hilfreich.
Love the content! So many questions about what you do… Do you have a S&C specialist helping with training? Do you match your nutrition to your training? Do you do strength & hypertrophy or are you mainly power focused now? Do you periodise workouts? How do you select reps & sets, and rest periods? Tell us more!!!
I‘ve never done them. I don‘t really like to simulate the whole movement (because I do it so much already when swinging) but isolate some elements of it. Cable Chops won‘t harm for most tho 👍🏾
Hey Martin! Keep inspiring my man!! Question for you - do you take any supplements before a round of golf/simulator session? Even like pre-workout or a red bull or coffee? And a follow up - do you know if Bryson takes any supplements before competition? Even just on the level of energy and amping yourself up so you’re alert and whatnot
Hi Martin, tolles Video und tolles Workout! So wie es aussieht, betreibst Du auch konventionelles Muskel- und Krafttraining. Wann machst Du was? Wie kombinierst Du diese zwei verschiedene Trainings? Vielleicht könntest Du grob Dein Wochenprogramm beschreiben. Besten Dank im Voraus. Viele Grüße Michael / München
Martin, great content! Btw, how many days per week do you repeat those exercises? Do you do squats and deadlifts 3x per week? Thanks in advance and best wishes!
2x per week strength/power training for each muscle group / movement pattern is a good rule of thumb. You can even do more times per week, but you would want to make your workouts smaller for that.
Let’s go Borgi Army!!!! This is where I really need to improve, I need to be more consistent in my workouts. P.S. how do we spell Borgi Army, did I get it right?
Not a bad video. However, the power movements should precede the strength movements. Additionally, more unilateral exercises, especially for the legs (golf is played with one leg so this is more functional & sport specific) should be performed.
@@MartinBorgmeierLD if I could hit the golf ball like you, I wouldn’t bother with CrossFit either. 😉 However, as a 50 year old trying to maintain strength and functional movement along with cardiovascular health, I find it very good. 😊
Hi Martin ich frag mich immer ob zu viele Muskeln nicht den gegenteiligen Effekt habe da man dadurch ja auch mehr Maße hat und es schwere ist diese zu beschleunigen 😅 würde mich über eine Antwort freuen.
These are great exercises - but are you doing all of these in one session? Seems like a lot , feel like splitting these into two sessions would be fine
to me stretching is more important than any workout ...I always told people when i out drive the best people saying will out drive me by 100 yards..I say i am as limber as a dish rag
Weird swinging about Pull up 10 X 3 sets Squat 10 X 3 sets Deadlifts 10 X 3 sets Kettlebell swing 8 X 3 sets Overhead raise 4-8 X 3 sets Bench press 10 X 3 sets Reverse fly 5 X 6 sets Jumps 10 X 3 sets Anyone please feel free to change. I hit about 190 to 200yds with driver 90-100mph, nearly 50yo. Wish me luck.
wow you cut your hair off you want ever beat Kyle again now...YOU would have been better to cut that face food catching hair off than the head hair if you want women LMAO
