Gomez GXL Pro Review 

I am a proud owner of GXL Pro wheel (a bit of a different colour scheme that the one you review) and I am super happy with it. I can't say I fit into the category of "having so much money" as you mentioned at the end of the video. I won't lie, took me a long time to save hard-earned money to finally be able to purchase it...but for me this is the ultimate wheel for my hobby. The feeling of a real GT style car wheel with a solid construction. Considering the topic of money - cheap / expensive / too much / too little - I think this is very subjective. We don't need to go far... the whole automotive industry. There are 20 years old VW Golfs, boring but quite compact Toyota Priuses but also Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Koenigseggs... all with different pricing. Some affordable, some expensive...yet another ridiculously expensive. I think sim racing is not different. GSI is expensive but I think this matches the quality which we get in the return. Speaking of expensive, we have on the market companies like Precision Engineering with the wheels over £2000 mark. That definitely is way out of my personal budget!

i had this wheel long time ago ! and i can say it was great ! best shifter on the market on my opinion grips nice because i hav big hands but thats all ! i own cube controls and simucube takho ... and hands down GSI hav the best shifter on my opinion ....

I have Gomez gxl, and gotta say that it has best shifters and grips. I have used quite few wheels, and it is very hard to go back Qube controlls after this. Encoders are real shame, and it hasnt got luxory looks or backlight etc what you could want at this pricepoint. Great wheel, but not perfect. Gomez shines on feel (except encoders) rather than looks. If you buy wireless wheel, you are buying something from ecosystem you choosed buying wheelbase. That becomes really limited if you want something nicer or special. Never had any prob with cable, if you use 5min how to route it, since every wheel has coiled cable. Really would like to have more bluetooth wheels on market. Wheel prices generally are ridiculous and buying them can compared of buying nice automatic watch. Very low quantity volumes with handcrafted volumes, makes wheels cost that much, but makes them also something special, like good watch.

You're right, they are very expensive but I'll let you in to a secret Karl, this is our only job. The few guys that build this stuff Gomez, Meca etc, and those that direct sell it in the UK such as R@h and Race Anywhere don't have a side hustle. The cost of this kit in the UK is hammered by VAT. Shipping isn't cheap and bulk discounts are skinny. We have staff to pay, overheads etc and still try to sell product for less than the full import cost. Trust me, without your promotion of my business, I would have packed up long ago, but truly, there's no money in it for resellers. The cost to the customer of everything we sell has to be less than the cost of the customer importing unless we can slash waiting times. These products aren't simply priced as materials plus 10%, development times are nuts, Gomez are great innovators but deserve a premium for their efforts. Your work is amazing but believe me when I tell you resellers don't leave any transaction weighed down with a sack of cash.

Got the Formula Pro Elite of this wheel and the grip is what I like the most about it, so comfortable. Built quality is top notch but nothing too special about this product, certainly overpriced just like many other options on the market. Had a lot of problems with electric interferences between the wheel and my SC2, the screen would just freeze up. Fortunatly the price buys you some top notch customer service and they found a way to get rid of the problem (twisting the usb cable inside the housing O_o).

I do agree for what is basically a wheel shaped button box they are overpriced. But there must be a market for them because there are so many wheels out there in this price point.

I have the GSI Formula Pro Elite & while the build quality is great and the grips feel amazing (I have big hands) I feel it is absurdly overpriced like most sim equipment. I got a really great deal on my wheel as I purchased it second hand on the iRacing forums but I couldn't imagine paying close to $1500 usd for it & saying it's worth every cent. The pricing of "high end" sim equipment is like a modern day gold rush.

another great review mate. have to ask have you looked into the 'new' cheaper wheels with the screens built in. specifically the formula style ones? (like the Leoxz XF1 or the EXPESENSIVE V-PF1 PRO - also the in-between priced one the SIMAGIC FX PRO which I don't know if you could review due to branding, not sure if it can be adapted to fit a fanatec base)

Probably my new favorite channel, I had a g27 years ago but now I'm getting back into sim racing and your g920 video's are the best in depth ones I've seen. The one thing I still don't fully get is the ffb% on assetto corsa if anyone could help, I run it at 150% on most cars only cause I'm not sure how high I can go with it. Is it meant to be adjusted from car to car?
