You could just ask for them to send pictures of the rock before you accept the job. That way it saves you the trip. At least will allow you do easily tell if it’s a simple job vs one that will require prior inspection.

You are a great example of worksite safety and good practice, in fact, any industry could take a page from your book and learn how to work safe. Could you have got them to use an excavator for you to stand or sit in the bucket. I mean they gave you a dodgy description in the first place. Apart from all that, this is really interesting. I know the feeling man. Got roped into a job by a contractor. Said it was a tree leaning over a house. I quoted it way too low over the phone. The tree was leaned over an empty swimming pool. New construction so sod had not been laid yet. Couldn't get a bucket to it. The whole place was like swamp. Took a crew of 3, two days to complete what I was told would take 2 hours

I went to Home Depot and asked for Senatal Magnum but they said they didn't have it. I called DynoNobel but they said something about a license and they wouldn't sell me anything because they assumed I didn't have what ever licenses is required to blow up a rock in my own backyard. I was reading online that you can mix acetone and C4 together to make a good rock exploder but how do you get the C4? I ordered acouple bags of C2 off the internet and I was gonna mix them together to get C4 but the carbon just turned into a bigger pile of carbon. I'll shut up and stop pulling your leg.
