So you might need to get a better understanding of what political means because I assure you their is media you probably love that you don't consider political that is VERY political. Making a character trans, or gay isn't political. But having a story that talks about the experience of being trans or gay is political, any time media has a story to tell or meaning its political.

My games try to have good writing and good repersentation at the same time. It's shocking how few games attempt both... Only Xenoblade 3 even attempts it and it's repersentation is blink and you miss it even though it's for major characters. (Juniper and A, who are both non binary.)

Alright, so Snoot game. I am currently playing it and I have to say that I am enjoying it and unlike lots comments that are just saying "Snoot Game" or "You should review Snoot Game" I will try to point out what it does that makes ist a "better" game. 1. Fang being non-binary is an actual plot point as in they are suffering through an identity crisis which the player can help them in. 2. Characters are interesting and developed upon throughout the game for example Naomi and Naser are interesting now. 3. Choices matter. The game 4 endings and it runs on a point system which means if you f*ck something you can fix it. 4. Choices are unpredictable. Some choices that seem important may actually be superficial and vice versa. 5. I am not writing any more points.
Snoot game is far more memorable too, im a hater of anything with the "everybody died, the end" trope doesn't matter how its used so i gravitate towards not liking GVH by default

About those other comments, homophobia is cringe, but like, I feel like its almost deserved given most of the games fans only like it because its queer and weaponised its queerness to attack critics. At some point if you keep calling people something negative for doing something but in the same instance keep provoking them to do that same thing, some people are just going to embrace it ya know.
The contreversy is because of the languge used and the outcomes that it takes. Ending 1, Fang shoots up the school. (An obviously contreversial topic.) Althought the reason for this is because you, the player, (Anon) are still a selfish dick who doesn't improve throught the story, which leads to Fang having a mental breakdown. Ending 2 is where Anon "changes" on the outside but when he gets drunk with Fang, his true colors come out and Anon acts transphobic. This ending has Fang do their own thing while still being non binary, eventually ending up depressed or a junkie (they play in a bar with a shaved head and tatoos.) Implying that non binary people can't succeed. Ending 3 is where Anon isolates Fang from their friends and basically de-transitions them into being a woman again. It's bittersweet. Ending 4 is the closest the game gets to letting Fang be Fang and non-binary. However, we see from the time skip that Fang goes back to being called Lucy, and claims it was just a phase. The people saying it's an "Alt Right game" are inncorrect, but Snoot Game definetly doesn't appeal to them in that way. It's definetly edgy at times, yet still a good story. However, the endings and character choices don't very much appeal to the progressive crowd. Take for example the portrayal of Triceratops, words like "Trigga" used in place of the N-word, or how Trish is portrayed as living in a very low income neighborhood with many siblings. Or how it quite literally spells it out with a Boondocks reference. Making Triceratops alegorical to black people. There are underlying 4chan elements which would definetly turn off some people to the game. And I say all this as a Snootfag who loved the game!

Man im a furry and even I though this game was fucking dogwater The thing about having characters that try to hard to be likeable is that no one will like them. To give you some true context, *I cried when arthur morgan died, I laughed when everyone died in this game.* Why? Because arthur morgan has amazing writting, we spend time peering into his past lives, and we watch him break down in a very human way. None of that raw character is present here. The characters go through barely any character arc, and it all ends with them getting nuked during a lame ass rock concert, tiny hampsters on typewriters couldve made a better plot, christ sake. Just give characters qualities of both spectrums, then that makes them more relatable. *How is this so hard?*
The first comment is funny because most people like that completely misinterpreted the themes of Persona 4 to come to the conclusion that its homophobic or transphobic. Kanji's whole arc is about his insecurities related to his stereotypically feminine interests making people think he was gay, and Naoto is about her insecurities over her gender and how she comes from a family of exclusively male detectives she idolises, and how this makes her worry that she can't be a detective because of her gender. Is it perfectly executed? No but for a game made in 2008 Japan it's pretty good. That one scene in Persona 5 though there's no excuse other than it not being funny but it was one scene so whatever.

@@user-iu1cm5uk3w my point is that in the show I am referring to, the character was part of the main cast but talked about being attracted to the same gender for probably more then 60% of her screen time. As well as not really contributing much outside of one part that could have been done with anyone else because she was that irrelevant as one of the main characters. These characters are mostly just made to be gay and not help the story while being shoves into as much runtime as possible that could have been taken up by world building or developing someone who was actually important to this series.

There was a scene where 2 gay guys were hitting on Ryuji. This got changed in P5R. (Also side note, SEGA, the company that technically owns Persona has been known to be one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly companies in Japan, they even sponsored a few pride parades there)
