Steven, I am surprised you did not request that a section of the fence be made removable or a gate installed to allow better access to that condenser. You should not have to stand on your head to to fix it. Loved the red parrot story. Enjoy your videos very much, thank your for all the work making them.
@@volvo09to be fair, tradies always find ways to shit on another's profession, but a plumber knows, shit only rolls down hill. That's why they deserve the most money
“Blow my leg clean off I step on one of those suckers!” I cracked up. It’s the first thing somebody yells out when we’re on a install “watch out for the land mines!!” I usually get the shovel and fling it into their yard where we’re not walking. People have no consideration.
Steven, i see you are enjoying your job by making the best out of it. New technician should take notes of your work, so they know that not everything is paradise. Good job and keep those videos coming. Miss Molly is a great dog and always by your side.
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍. What genius decided to place the unit that way, lol. You should get combat pay stepping around that yard, yikes!
WOW!!! No space to get to the disconnect, nor gain access to the capacitor. I give you credit,Steve, for getting in there with hardly any room to get in there to do your work.
Why ? I enjoyed it ! I'm older than you - I haven't heard anything I haven't before - at least a million times ! I thought it was funny ! Really Steve - I love your videos !
Where I live down here in Maryland, you have to get a permit for freaking EVERYTHING. Both that A.C. install and the fence would have required a building permit, and would not have been allowed due to inadequate set-back. Oftentimes the permitting process is a worthless PITA, but I suppose there are circumstances like this one that it would have been useful to require that AC to be placed where there is more room.
Straight up the condenser does NOT have nearly enough clearance from all the objects surrounding it. It all depends on the manufacturer but most call for the unit to be about 6-12" away from the house and need a minimum of 18" clearance on both sides. That condenser needs to be able to pull ambient air in from the sides through the condensing coil so it can reject the unwanted heat from your house off into the atmosphere
@@ranger178 : The permitting process is controversial. It should certainly be required for gas appliances, or anything that could injure or kill someone if installed improperly. But sometimes it seems like just a scam for the county to raise money. For example, we purchased this house 5 years ago, and there was a new deck built so close to the A.C. unit that I had to bend the door in half lengthwise to open it. And there’s no way anyone can fit between the A.C. and the deck to service it. Why did the Inspector allow that? He clearly wasn’t paying attention or didn’t care. My Dad said that back in the day, Inspectors typically took bribes to look the other way. My uncle was a civil engineer for the CA Dept of Transportation (CalTrans) and he was insulted that a contractor offered him a bribe to use a lower grade of cement on a highway project. But in general, I think permits are fine where safety is involved, but resent it when you’re just handing them money and getting no value in return.
Watching you hanging upside down over that compressor/condensor reminded me of the movie 'Mission Impossible'. Are you thinking about becoming another Tom Cruise?
I was laughing hard. It was entertaining for me but I know you prayed it would start up with new cap and stay on so you could get out of that nightmare.
I think that that fence was put in recently because it looks really new and who ever did it just did not think clearly about people needing to get to that unit to service it.
Steve on the edge! Talk about cramped work space... Great job getting in there. Those land mines remind me of last week when the painter was over, he pissed me off with spilled paint and broken sprinkler pipes and got what he deserved. He Stepped in the land mines!
the installer didn’t give a crap about anyone ever having to service it haha! That guy is maybe a good guy but he for sure called his wife a B for his parrot to yell like that hahahaha!! Hilarious
So much for the 20 inch free space. Some people just will not clean up after their animals there is no difference in human and animal crap ,it's still foul .
Your yankee manners are fuc*ing hilarious. Oh and that Goodman needs more breathing room 24” all the way around sir the backwards cap is not the reason the sitting 2” from the fence is it’s running hot causing cap failure and breaker to trip 👍🏻 but by the sound of the thing it’s about wore out anyway
First thing is cut that fence back, so don’t have to lean over the unit to work on it that’s ridiculous even more air movement than that around that outdoor unit
