I´m not so sure some of the tags are set correctly. The trigger can´t be "All Pages" It will always trigger even without a click on the phonenumber. You better extend your tutorial, by showing the preview mode aswell to test your conversion actions and to proof they actually are triggered when they should. The trigger "click on link" in combination with the tel code worked for me.

Yeah, this is way easier using a Click Trigger where the parameter is Click URL contains "tel:" in Tag Manager as opposed to adding the onclick event

Still getting an error though! Not sure what to do. Below is what I see. "Finish setting up conversion tracking by making sure your conversion actions are successfully reporting conversions". "Conversion tracking helps you understand how effectively your ad clicks lead to valuable customer activity, such as website purchases, phone calls, app downloads, newsletter sign-ups, and more. You also get access to new features, like automated bidding, bid adjustment recommendations, negative keyword recommendations, and conversions reporting. You're seeing this recommendation because you’ve added a conversion action but no conversions are currently being reported, causing you to miss out on tracking customer actions that are valuable to your business."

Thanks! Can I ask if the phone number on the site is different from the call extension will it still track if it's the same number? the Google format has the brackets but my website number doesn't so in this case will the call extension conversion fire?

I have my calls from website tracking code set up. but I dont want to have my phone number change to a google forwarding number. is there a way to still keep call tracking phone calls from website without using a forwarding number?

Is there anyway to set up Text Message Conversion Tracking along with Phone Call Conversion Tracking? Hello, i'm curious as to why we set the trigger for phone call events to "All pages." It looks like the event is triggering whenever a page is loaded, rather than when a phone number is clicked on my site. Should I be using a button click including "tel:" trigger instead?

Correct it you need to trigger only on clicking the number not on all pages while setting calls from the website bcoz it will be triggered when any page is loaded but we need to fire tag only when our number is clicked

Thank you so much for the detailed information. You guys saved me ton of a research, as I am about start call ads through google search ads. I have a quick question, I am starting the only calls campaign, so should I setup three of them tracking on my ad account and website or should I use any one which is relevant. I don't have CRM or Forwarding Number to track, I have only UAE Landline/Toll Free number. How can I know, how many of calls got actually converted into sales, as I will be receiving calls beside the google ads through different advertising platforms. Please assist me. Thanks.

unfortunately you might need server side tracking to track converted leads using calls. If you receive leads through a form you can include the GCLID in the form and that way you can feed back to Google which leads converted and which didn't.

Yes, the tag type needs to be 'Google Ads Calls from Website Conversion' instead of 'Google Ads Conversion Tracking' @14:38 Again @ 22:29, the trigger is not 'All Pages' but Just Link > Some Links Clicks > Click URL starts with 'tel:' @24:00 - There is no need for an 'Onclick' attribute when using GTM. It is needed only when using Google Tag aka GTAG.

how to fix don't count call as conversions. Call reporting is on. Conversion tracking limited. Your conversion tracking tag isn't recording conversions, and there may be something wrong with how it's installed on your site.

Instead of having a link under your phone number which doesn't look all that great, just make this change dynamically with CSS. When a person looks at your website it should be clickable and if it's a desktop, it's not. It's pretty easy to implement as you're probably already have a responsive web design tailored for mobile devices. No need to know Javascript or PHP for that. Simple CSS change.

For Website Call Conversion tracking we do not select Google Ads Conversion Tracking, instead we have to select Google Ads Calls From Website Conversion. Appologies did not want to sound condescending. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the video. I implemented all 3 conversion tracking, but I think somethig is off with my "Phone Call Clicks From Website", it reports a lot of them and it can't be true, I cross checked with the data from analytics. I can't find the mistake, I have the phone number clickable in the footer and followed every step like you showed. The only difference is that the text of the clickable phone number is actually the phone number. Can you give me some pointers of what can be wrong and how to try and fix it?
