GOPRO Hero 10: Firmware 1.19 Beta.. as if previous versions were any better

Since when did the paying customers of Gopro become beta testers of their Quality Assurance department? The latest firmware is a beta release with added support for Max Lens Mod, 5k SuperView, and 24 frame rate, which should've been there in the first place when Hero 10 was released. While welcome the additions, I have doubts on the usability and decided to simply wait for the final GA version 1.20. This video includes a follow up to previous issues with firmware 1.16 lockups.

Had same issue with the green Samsung card and a scandisk extreme pro. Stopped recording and did the fixing file thing while I was kayak fishing. Heard lots of people having issues with sdcards and the 1.16 fw, updated to 1.19 beta and now the gopro won't record with the Samsung says a v30 card is required. Put scandisk in and recorded for 7 hours at 4k 24fps with power bank.

Hi BassMan. Just confirming with you that after reformatting your GoPro10 and using a Sandisk V30 Micro SDCard, there were no more freezing issues occuring on your unit? Thank you.

can you imagine not capturing the moment you caught a trophy fish because of a lockup issue? Regardless, which Samsung card were you using? The only non-v30 is the Endurance series.

Hi, is it possible to get a copy of FW 1.19 for gopro 10? the 1.30 will not let you use external power. Thank you.

I am new this GoPro stuff. Just wondering, do I get all of the update fixes from day 1 on the initial update set up when I get brand new GoPro Hero 10 Black. Or do I have to go to each individual update and load it into my new camera in order to get every update fix.

Install Gopro's Quik app on your phone, connect to your Hero 10, and Quik app will automatically update Hero 10 to latest firmware everytime Quik app connects to Hero 10.

@@udtrader Thanks for the quick reply. Also I read that I should format my memory card so that my GoPro does not freeze up. Is that what I should do too?

@@wadetakemoto4554 absolutely. Hero 10 -> Preferences -> Reset -> Format SD Card. Formatting also helps with file defragmentation in case you need to "undelete" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zmm1t6qY2YA.html&ab_channel=udtrader

Greetings Udtrader. Thank you for giving us a report on the latest GP10 FW. Your efforts is much appreciated so much so that it holds me back from splurging on the GP10 as other reviewers reported no issues (e.g., ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U9wGkFtGtJg.html at 8:00). Then again, I do hope only the memory card's causing it (where this shouldn't be a problem unless the card's really slow. In other words, brands shouldn't matter).

If you don't need the durability and superwide lens of an action camera, a Canon G7x iii or Sony ZV-1 make excellent videos. We may be discussing Hero 11 by the time Gopro "fixes" everything.

@@udtrader Haha. GP11. Anyway, I need an Action Cam's durability actually because if not, I would've gotten a ZV-1 earlier already. As I've said before, I need an Action Cam that's ready to film in harsh environments and underwater and the GP10 or the OA1 fits my needs. Thanks again!!!
