Thanks so much for this video I just got my 11 mini.. this new ratio setting is going to be perfect for our upcoming trip to Disneyland.. also you've gained a new subscriber! 👍🏽💪🏽👊🏽
Hello. I am glad it was helpful. That shoot once and edit later with different ratios is helpful. Hope you have a great time at Disney, with all the Gopros.
Is it similar to original footage from 16:9 ratio or 9:16 ratio when we crop it from 8:7 ratio??? Or does it looses some resolution or wideness from the footage??? Compated to directly sjooting from 16:9 ratio or viece versa Please reply@@BrooklynJimmie
Yes. As far as I know. Though I haven't tried to edit it in my editing software. The Quik app does a good job though of keeping the video proportions right. Also, let's you export the file in 4k and 5k without losing quality. I'll try it one day with my editing software one day just because it would be nice to know..
Great video! I recently bought a gopro 11 and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to record my stuff efficiently. Do you lose a lot of quality when recording in 8:7 and then converting to 9:16? I'd like to record my stuff for instagram reels while making sure I can rotate it to 16:9 for youtube in case I ever want to upload videos here. Is this possible with 8:7? Do you use a specific editing program or is the quik app good enough? Thanks for this video!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. When it first came out I remember it would export at a lower resolution. After some firmware upgrades though on the phone app, you can export 5.3k and 4k both to 4k at 16:9 or 9:16. I haven't tried the other ratios yet.
Hey yo! GoPro user here. If I want my video to be available in 9:16 AND 16:9, what aspect ratio should I film in? If I have one video, I want to create two versions of the same video. 9:16 for Instagram and 16:9 for personal viewing.
@BrooklynJimmie bro, I tried that on my gopro 11, and you're absolutely right I have more option on post production thank you so much..I'm still struggling in using ND filters if you could point me to a tutorial that could help me I'd be so grateful
@ParadiseByAir glad that worked out. David manning has an old video for the Gopro 9, but it's still valid. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SoRli40_B_E.htmlsi=bj2Hr9y9m6MJUJWl
You can edit it on your phone using the Gopro Quik App. Yo shoot the footage in the 8:7 Ratio. Using that ratio, you edit the video in the quik app. You can change the lens perspective (Linear, wide, etc) and you can change the ratio (9:16, 16:9 4:3, etc). This way if you want to share the video in 16:9 and then post it later on Tik Tok in 9:16, you can do it all with one shot. You just have to crop what you want in the Quik app. Depending on the Ratio you can still get up to a 5k file.
Epidemic Sound!!! You can use the 8:7 ratio when you want to film one time and then make a short and long form from the same clip. They finally took a page from the Insta360 book.
@@BrooklynJimmie I bought the Insta360 sphere to strap on my Mavic Air 2 since I most use my Mavic Air 2s for videos. Got it on a Black Friday deal for $386.
So does this mean you can shoot a video and post to RU-vid or tiktok using the same footage? I have the go pro 10 and if it shoot tiktok I loose to much on The sides. So we can shoot one time and be able to set footage after the fact to 16:9 or 9:16 ? Trying to determine if it worth upgrading from the 10 to 11 for this efficiency! Thanks for your video.
