I had the exact same problem with the one I ordered directly from GoPro. I got a notification that there was a mechanical delay from UPS But I found one in a local store

They’re both good cameras I guess it just depends if you want the flexibility of the Insta 360 one R Ecosystem. I don’t think we’ll see a max version 2 until next year

I do believe you have to set the zoom before you start recording there’s no live zooming

@@AirPhotography That is what I feared. Why can't they sort out this basic functionality? I have the Hero 6 and did not update to 7 or 8 because of this. The Hero 9 may be a big enough change for me to update but not having this feature is very limiting.

Thank goodness I didn’t buy the Hero 8. I was so closed in buying from Costco at $369 for the bundle. But was hesitant as I was leaning towards Dji osmo action cam as well, then the rumour was on about the new 9 so I waited. My patience paid off. Will get it soon.

That's exactly my case, i was going to buy Hero8 and risk all my savings + shipping cost is really high to my country adding to the list the clearance fee which is almost 10% of the GoPro's price. Bluetooth microphones have problems with audio delay. Your audio would not be in sync with video. Bluetooth audio often has a higher latency.

It’s a good thing I didn’t get the Hero 8 or the 7. I’ve been waiting a long time to upgrade from the Hero 2, haha. I’m happy they brought back that interchangeable lenses. That is what I mainly was waiting for. That and has the screen on the front of the camera. Impressed that the pics are now up to 20MP sensor. Thank you for this review

Good video. Thank you. The worst thing for me is the ridiculous USB-C inside the battery door? How stupid is GoPro? I run external power because I record fishing videos on the water for roughly 8 to 10 hours... this is a deal-breaker for me! Bummer!

Battery be same as previouse because the extra capacity be waster on running the TFT screen :( Grrrrrr GoPro as usual fucks it with that crap which should be acc add on Bet the audio still crap wind noise for MotorCycle ADV sports bring back 3.5 or C Usb weather proof option for external mic with wind sock Billet case soon hope from someone

Careful buying directly from GoPro. They charge tax on the FULL price and not the current SALE price. It may be legal but it's a shady practice!!!

Apart from the front display and 5k the hypersmooth in hero 9 same as 8 expect it offers horizon level in liner. Rest all options of hypersmooth are same in 16:9 and 4:3 from hero 8

I´m filming my daily Bass-Practicing sessions, to see wether i´m progressing or may stagnate. What i need is a small, simple to use cam, which is able to record videos between 20 minutes and one hour. A remotecontrole would be nice, but not totally needed. Realy importent is, that i don´t have to "select that mode, enable that thing, chose between this 13 different lightning-options" and so on. Simply "press the button to start" that is what i want. My lightning is daylight through a window, or when i´m practicing in the evening two simple standing light, how you can find them in each living room. Does this camera work for me ?

You have no film in progress with comparison hero 9 and Dji pocket 2, do you think picture and sound quality without "accessories"? Stands in the selection and qualification about what would suit me best, which does not need waterproof, etc. without just a good picture and decent sound.

Ok so story time but I doubt people care..... so I was young (not older than 12) and my first ever GoPro was the 7 silver and I didn’t know it didn’t use batteries so I returned it for the black and I used a knife on the screen to get the turtle thing off on the back and my hand slipped and put a giant scratch right across the screen so I returned it and got the 8

much better they did 7 black with charging the battery while driving for example I take off the small cover and connect the external battery without opening the battery cover while with 9 I have to open the battery half to charge it and the cover on 9 can't tear it seems to me and that's crap go pro 7 black is still the best camera

Didn't see how and where you insert sd card. Also didn't see which way battery compartment open. Watched video in 65 inch TV, still those icon on gopro screen couldn't figure out which is which. Should have zoom in. Video was fast, unboxing to setup in 9 minutes was short. Seems intended for gopro professionals who have used previous versions of gopro. People like me who bought it for first time, video was not useful.

Yes you can charge the GoPro with a power bank, and you can record well it’s been charged by a power bank for a long recording sessions
