After stalling his bike at the start, beeing taken out by Dumbass Butron, falling another time.... He still manage to enter the top 10. I don't know if the people talkin crap about him realise how impressive this actually is. He's gonna be hard to stop with a good start.
tonypybus yeah a working rear brake is always enjoyable too ^^ I read on racerx that his problem at the start was probably due to an ignition failure... Humm... lol
Very rough race for Ryan, but that was still some of the most aggressive racing I've seen him do. Give this guy a start with out clutch-popping and he'll make stuff happen. I can tell he's been training hard and is more than ready
wercide Funny you should mention that, I just compared this race to his, well, unfortunate moto 2 race, and I think he's racing a lot more aggressively now.
wercide I really couldn't agree more, I've only been an SX fan for a while, and haven't looked a lot into MXGP, but I think Ryan did make a very risky decision by doing MXGP, but he did have a his reasons. His big reason was if he did SX he was only looking to get hurt, not a very ballsy reason to switch but I give him respect for trying something new. As you, I hope too he starts racing for podium soon.
I've always loved how Villopoto was a strategic passer. When i used to race i always hated the people that would connect with you in corners and try to take your ass out. He's always been respectable even in a competition.

RV2 is my all time favorite, 45 years old seen the best of the beat and to me.....RV2 is and always will be top shelf. 4 straight sx titles and I believe 3 outdoor, champion. AND THE RUN OF ALL TIME.....RED BUD. MX2, HOLESHOT BOTH MOTOS AND CHECKED THE FUCK OUT!!!!! LEGEND.
I am so bummed about how the mxgp went for Ryan. I remember being SO pumped to have him go there!! I can FEEL the lonliness that an American boy would have going there.......
MAN!, what a lesson in not giving up. I love watching this guy ride! Hitting that rev limiter as much as he does just makes me laugh out loud. Made me want to puke when all that hard work went for naught just a lap from the finish. Anyway,go Ryan you make me proud to be an American!
Bit of a ruff start.. but, you can't keep a good man down".. and no doubt ryan well definitely rise to the top! ... racing the GP was a awesome move for villapoto.. it's great to see him over there representing him self and the USA. Plus it's great for all the fans by the time he's done the world well see what a great champion he is.

Yeah, I think the Americans are going to finally realize how fast MX1 is now. The only guy to even challenge Cairoli straight up has been Pourcel on a few occasions and when he felt like it lol, and look how good CP was in the USA. It goes to show that the euro tracks are no joke and neither are the riders. I hope tony can pull off #9, i wonder if he's going for Evert's record? I could see him tying it, but getting 11 would be amazing...
I would like to see him have a good start because with everything that he had against him, he obviously believed in himself. He knew the track, he took the corners like a beast. I respect that. #skills
the day after I got my wr450f I took it to a motocross track. didn't even have an hour of ride time on the it and still took it there. I crashed one time that day... in the open field parking lot. yep, in a flat field. I never rode a bike bigger than a 225 4stroke and I never rode a race bike before.
Man I can see how things didn't go that well for RV over the pond. This race seem like it was at a County Fair but on a larger scale. Hardly any fans there except for in the main straight away and the whole atmosphere is very different! Even trying to compare it to our Daytona Under The Lights, we have fans screaming and it is totally different. I felt lonely just watching this race!
Growing up watching American Motocross and riding since the age of 4 I have to say it seems like AMA is run by a lot of politics and owners who are trying to make the biggest dollar figure. good ol USA. Obviously still very good racing but in the past few years I started watching MXGP's here and there and I must say I truly appreciate the feel of less man made obstacles and I tend to view it truly as a feel of motocross at a more root level. Big natural terrain tracks with lots of different types of dirt and bike made obstacles and lines. I personally feel as if the AMA is making motocross all about the fans and the publicity rather then the true riding. Really appreciate what MXGP racing seems to be and hope it stays this way. Cheers

This track looks HUGE! Is this the normal size of a track in Europe? Villipoto obviously is rusty...just wait, he will be up front soon. He is easily a rider that will be hard to beat.
I wouldn't say he was rusty, dead last to top 10 after two crashes is nothing short of amazing. This was one of his best rides, it's just a shame that the result didn't reflect the level of riding he displayed. And I believe this track was in Qatar, but many of the GP tracks seem to be very large. But I agree, if he stays healthy and gets a decent stat he will be untouchable to everyone except Cairoli. Excited to see some good battles.
