@@DuGongggg The Valkyrie will most likely beat it for driving experience aside from being left hand drive. 1000hp N/A v12 and LMP1 levels of performance.

@@stubones Valkyrie has a claimed 1800kg of downforce and weighs 1.000 kgs. T.50S has 1500 kgs of downforce and weighs 852 kgs. It has the same contact patch as the Valkyrie, but with lighter weight. And the downforce to weight ratio if the T.50S is not that far off the Valkyrie (1.8 for Valkyrie vs 1.76 for T.50S), however the T.50 will be faster round the corners due to having a lighter weight with the same contact patch of tire. Valkyrie has a double seat arrangements which will upset the balance of the car. T.50S is a centre seat car which doesn’t have that problem. Valkyrie will have the edge on a straight line, T.50S will have the edge round a corner, this will be the ket but the Valkyrie wouldn’t destroy the T.50S, it’s too heavy. Valkyrie vs T.50S is perfectly balanced. And it’ll produce similar lap times. Don’t even get me started with the Mercedes, in terms of downforce to weight it’s horrible. At 1400 kgs and only 675 kg of downforce with only 1000 hp, it’ll be a pig compared to the other two. Will probably only be slightly faster than the GT2RS. Only the Bolide has the ability to “kill” this car. Even then, no one can buy it. There’ll be at least 25 of these for you to buy in the future if you’re successful enough.

Too true, GuanJun 1. I suppose my only questions would be: Why not have the more powerful engine in the regular car? Longevity? Usability? How did they lose as much as 134kg (?) from the road car? (I'll admit I haven't watched this video yet - haven't the time right now! - but I have these questions from the GMA video.)

My first car was same weight and was a “S”-model. It was from the same year as the F1. Practically a Gordon Murray halo car then. A Fiesta.

The fact that it was on Zoom did not detract from the quality of the content, just made the anticipation of you actually driving one all the more...betterer...yes I know it's not a proper word but... Full circle today watching Retro Power talking about Gordon's Escort and then this, excellent British engineering content. Have you spoken to Ian Callum yet? Oh and Iain Tyrell's Classic Workshop...so much quality.

I think I like the rear end on this better than the standard T50, on that the fan tends to dominate but the strong horizontal elements pull the visual emphasis back out to the outer edges of the car again, looks much more balanced.

I was really confused seeing a rendered of a T50 with all new aero when I thought the fan was to do away with aero... yet here is Gordon - king of logic explaining the thinking! It all makes sense now. A proper straight talking designer and a straight talking no BS journalist - best way to present these cars... fascinating

Cars are limited because otherwise the racing is atrocious. BPR was great until Murray ruined it, then GT1 was ruined when Merc nicked his chassis and beat the championship to death with it.

I thought it was a mistake when he said 850 kilos. I had to google it to make sure. That is only 290-300 more kilos than a _BAC Mono_ ffs. Even the Senna GTR is 300 kilos heavier than the T50s. The Vulcan AMR Pro is 500 kilos heavier... It's an insane weight.

If I could one each of Gordon Murray's road cars, I'd be a happy enthusiast. So an F1, a Rocket, and a T50. All are honestly best used as track cars, even in standard trim. If I had to pick just one, I'd take the Rocket. At something like $250,000, last time I heard a number, it's by far the most affordable. But it is also the purest example of Gordon Murray's fundamental philosophy. IMO, of course. Murray is always a great interview; relaxed, engaged, and unpretentious. Thanks, Harry.

I would describe Gordon as more of a younger contemporary to Colin as arguably, they did work in parallel for several years. However, I would certainly also include Adrian Newey as “another” individual that many quite innovative designs can be contributed to a single person, as opposed to modern design teams where their total of gross genius can be many times greater than that of one single genius..

Thanks Harry for setting up this video with Gordon Murray. I believe it shows the best of British design and quality with the finest engineers in the world today. It was a pleasure to listen to Gordon and yourself and to get a taste of the car. I won’t say the best yet as I’m sure there’s more to come as the evolution of the car continues its journey but it takes people like Gordon to see the value in developing high quality forms of transport which may even be suitable for me! Many thanks to you both.

I think Gordon got LMDh and LMH swapped and I cant blame him. The LMDh are the new gen DPi which are based on the new LMP2 chassis, they can race in IMSA and also WEC. LMH on the other hand is from the WEC and the regs state that you can basically create your own car. Free choise of engine, bodywork, almost everything. The only thing you need is a 3:1 downforce drag i believe and max engine power of 650 hp. This car has 711 so you would only need to downtune it a bit and a min weight of 1040 kg, now this is where the issue is but they can put the extra ballast wherever they want. So technically the LMH hasnt changed at all and they could do it just fine. This being said the GT1 club concept seems good as well because there is the possibility of other hypercars. Like the Mercedes AMG, McLaren Senna GTR, Pagani Zonda R, Pagani Huayra BC, Ferrari FXXK Evo, etc.

Some of the LMH regs have changed though, as the road-based segment (which was going to be balanced with the 'open formula/prototype' cars was dropped, and (effectively) replaced with LMDh. Only Aston were committed to the road-based LMH 'hypercar' approach, and got the engine regs changed to suit them, then pulled out; so the whole thing was a mess and thus the ACO - with known support for LMDh from VAG, Acura and GM, went that way; otherwise they were looking at grids in LMH of Toyota vs Glickenhaus for 2 years...until Peugeot shows up.

Thanks Harry for sharing this....I could seat for days just listening to you and Gordon go back and forth. The wealth of experience you both bring to the table respectively is just addictive for car Petrol heads like me....I agree with Gordon I enjoyed your interview with him on the T.150 tremendously...and Gordon has done it again thrown the “industrial” standard rule book out the window with both these cars like he did with the Mclaren F1...I also liked that he said that this is a British car developed in conjunction with local British engineers who not only understood his brief.but developed and manufactured new technology firsts and even had room to throw in some caveats for him by delivering way beyond his expectations for what will surely be exceptional cars...which begs the question...who said British manufacturing is dead or unattainable? Clearly someone forgot to tell Gordon Murray...but then again..don’t think he’d care much😂 Awesome comeback!!!! Not that you ever left mark you! Great content again Harry, anytime, any day of the week👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽

@Valkyrie's 007 Can't do much to reduce that when your engine, gearbox, pumps and radiators weigh as much as this car!!! It will usually end up around 3-4x the weight of the powertrain.

What a compliment, Harry - from Gordon Murray: "You did a fantastic piece on the T-50!" I'm sure many others also watched the initial T-50 video on other channels too (Carfection, Top Gear, and so on) - your video was the absolute standout! None of the others came close. You got a lot of useful information out of Gordon (that the others didn't) and the whole video was a joy to watch - with good, genuine banter between you and Gordon. Some of the other channels' T-50 videos were clearly an ordeal for Gordon Murray and for anyone who tried to watch them on RU-vid.

If the original T-50 videos (posted in August) were part of a RU-vidr/motoring journalist "beauty contest" with part of Gordon Murray's prize being the award of the first/exclusive look at the T-50s - it was fully deserved. (Honourable mention for Chris Harris talks cars with Gordon Murray on Chris's Collecting Cars podcast)

@@allensaunders449 What "Hard" questions were you expecting Allen? Will the T-50s help solve 3rd world debt while you balance it on opposite lock through a corner??? What question could a motoring journalist or RU-vidr dream up that would be "Hard" for Gordon Murray to answer - given his achievements as an engineer and designer of road cars, racing cars and specialist vehicles over the last 50 years? He very possibly knows every single nut and bolt on his car, how much it weighs, and why that particular solution was chosen... Harry asked interesting questions (in this video, and previously in the T-50 video) based on his own extensive knowledge about high-performance sports cars to get more information out of Gordon Murray, than was previously available about the car. If you look at the 1st set of videos (for the T-50, last summer) even the excellent Henry Catchpole seemed to be slightly overawed by interviewing Gordon Murray. Harry wasn't - in either video. There was good, healthy and unforced banter between Harry and Gordon Murray. Yes, Harry appeared very complimentary towards Gordon and his amazing car (who wouldn't?) but there was clearly some appreciation from Gordon too, towards Harry, about how well Harry conducted the interview/video and his obvious detailed knowledge on the subject in hand...

Like the OX...? What about the Rocket? Gordon has been DOING 'affordable' for decades. Nobody either paid attention, or was interested.. Check out iStream design as well (another of his) - but nobody was very interested in the T.43
