Spam, rice and eggs is the bomb.

Growing up on a south London council estate in the 70s spam was a regular meal and i still love it, with six kids and not much money to go round, my mum could slice the stuff so thin you could read the paper through it 🤣🤣

I work at a Hawaiian restaurant and this is one of my favorite sandwich's. On top of what he did, add an egg, fresh green onion, and a slice of white American cheese. Literally my breakfast every Monday and usually every other Wednesday. Instead of the Fresno I do a dash of Sambal hot sauce, but effectively the same purpose in the dish. If you make this, be prepared to wash your hands afterwards or eat it with gloves. Totally worth it.

Our cafe in Georgia sells a span breakfast sandwich. It’s an everything bagel toasted with chive and onion cream cheese on both sides, fried spam, fried or scrambled egg, and some raw red onion.

I'm 61 years old, and have probably been eating spam for at least 50 of those years! I simply fried up in a pan, throw a slice of American cheese on there put it on toasted brioche, and nothing more. And it's simply awesome just like that! They do have a knock off that they sell at the Aldi near me, it's pretty good, but the real spam is where it's at! Thanks for the video! Now I'm hungry!

Spam was a Military staple and we would trade it in the Philippines and other places for different foods. Spam is amazing if done correctly and has so many uses.

I made a Spam Musubi rice bowl, diced up some Spam, browned it, then cooked it in Teriyaki. I put it on sticky rice and poached an egg, it was such a good lunch! But I made sure to get low sodium spam and teriyaki so it wouldn't be a salt bomb.

I don't think Gordon has been shopping for years.

Everytime I watch him. I literally try to absorb every knowledge as I can and apply it in real life (my family are some food enthusiasts). Mom doesnt like to cook at all because her hands always swell. As a 16 yrs old I have to learn as much as I can in an early age...especially in cooking.. plus papa always loves my desserts 😎❤

5:05 Bro overcooked the bun

Bro..........one piece of white bread on the plate. Put a light smear of mayo on it. Next, put two 1/2 inch slabs of pan fried Spam on it. Then put a slice of American cheese on it.......then some crispy lettuce and maybe a thin slice of tomato. Top it with another piece of white bread that has a heavier smear of mayo on it. That's the perfect Spam sandwich. Back it up with some Lays potato chips and can of original Coors and you got yourself the perfect lunch!

Spam, pink pineapple and soy sauce, fry steak after marinade, add marinade 2 min. Over rice👍🏼, Hawaii twist, in Hawaii used sweet baby pineapple, but in states can get pink.

I'm not an islander (brought to the islanders by American Solders in WWII) but I have to admit, I love SPAM. It's really easy to change the flavor by using a few local cooking techniques. And it's not as bad for your health as the FDA want's you to think! The FDA takes funding from the food industry too (in round about ways).

I always thought you seemed very angry, but your demeanor actually helps people learn from you effectively. I’m sure anyone who encounters you becomes deeply interested in your recipes. Thank you for your journey as a chef, which has helped many others, including other chefs.

Hawaiian bread $7, pineapple $3, spam $4, 40 lbs lump coal $35, teriyaki glaze $5, frezno chili $2, white miso paste $28, Hawaiian salt $15, onion $5, shallots $3, garlic $1.50. For a grand total of $108.50 for spam sammiches. I would say the only thing elevated about this is the cost. 😂😂😂

That looked so good. I’ve never heard of anyone salting the bun before. And you would think the spam with the Teri sauce would be salty enough. But other than that, I would try it.

Looks tasty! My father’s favorite was very simple. Grilled spam on toast with Mayo and mustard, and thin sliced sweet pickle. Simple and tasty

The biggest issue with eating pineapple outside of a relatively small radius of where it is grown is the fact that, unlike many fruits, it actually _stops_ ripening when it is picked. The source of the enzyme that turns a pineapple's starches into sugars is in the body of the main plant, not its fruit. Once picked, that pineapple has about 98% of the sugars it will ever have now, with the final 2% coming from what enzymes remain. You can't ripen a pineapple after picking, no matter what 'common knowledge" says. That means that the only way to get ripe pineapple is to _pick_ ripe pineapple. Unfortunately, once ripe it doesn't take more than a week or so before it starts to rot. So you need to be within that 7-10 day picking-travel-stocking range to get good pineapple. For Hawaiian pineapple? The West Coast of the US and Mexico is about it. Anything east of that will get unripe pineapple. The 'Gulf states' of the US get theirs from Costa Rica and Brazil, but again anything north of that is getting unripe pineapples. The countries of the South East Asia and Australia region have a better chance of getting ripe pineapples than Washington D.C. does; Thailand, Indonesia, China, and the Philippines all grow pineapples.

SPAM is an island delight. They know how to make it right. It's not glorious or glamorous, but it's a good eat. I learned an amazing dish on Guam that used SPAM as the base, super amazing!!!
