moti- means pearl ...in hindi we have 2 letters for "t" sound..first one 'ट' that exactly sounds like the pronunciation of 't' and is used to create those sounds like you do with 't' and the other letter which is pronounced without folding the tongue... 'त'. in india.. we have more words with the second letter. It is widely used in all different languages.

I went to Thailand twice, once in a really local restaurant where all the older friends gathered and had the best food in Thailand to date. That was in Phuket; similarly, a not-too-fancy restaurant had the best food in Bangkok.

I was having my lunch, and the moment Achara asked MOTI Mahal; does that mean FAT Mahal? I SPILLED MY FOOD. No Achara, you got the part right but Moti also means Pearls. There is a slight difference in the pronunciation of 'T' in both words. But you made me chuckle and made my day.

One of the best episodes from gordon's great escape is when he visits north east india and learns about spices and way of cooking that is very different from rest of India. Later he cooks those items and sells it on the streets of Kolkata. You should check that episode out

hey Achara, the question you asked in beginning of video about meaning of the name of hotel "Moti Mahal", yea you are right about the "Moti" meaning 'fat' but here it refers to 'pearl' as pearl is also called 'Moti' in India. So if you were to convert that hotel's name in english it would translate to 'Pearl Palace'. hope it helps 😊

7:09 the man they showed their imtiaz qureshi his whole family comes from generation of cooks that have been cooking for kings since the mughal days and imtiaz qureshi i s himself a culinary revolutionary of sorts , because of him dum phukt tradition of cooking was revived and went mainstream , when ITC hotel( famous 5 star chain) group hired him he had all the fancy utensills in the kitchen thrown out and went and for full copper utensils and he told the management then that if they try to cook indian food without the proper utensil the food is gonna taste like crap , and also he sort of invented vegeterian dum dishes when he was asked to prepare a vegetarian meal for indias first prime minister where he used bottle gourd and jackfruit to replace fish and chicken , gordon ramsay cannot be compared to him , that man is actually a legend and not just a celebrity chef

The culture of Bharat do not teach us to eat animal meat . Its just the food that has been influenced by Islamic Invasion who eats meat . Its quite unfortunate that people around the world thinks Chicken and Mutton are best foods from India , people should visit the house of Vegetarians families trying the tasty and amazing daily veg food they eat , and not only just focus on these meat Dishes . According to archeological finds, Indus Valley civilisation had dominance of the meat diet of animals such as cattle, buffalo, goat, pig and chicken. Do basic fact check instead of spreading misinformation. Also according to the latest government survey, 70-80% Indians consume non-vegetarian food. Not one thing you've said is true.
