I agree with most of your takes. Something that particularly caught me off guard is how pretty the ending of Tormenta was. I wasn't expecting it and thought it was a pleasant surprise at the end of an alright track otherwise
I knew there was something I liked about Tormenta, and you're absolutely right; it's the first time I've ever heard listenable reggaeton. It might be the worst mainstream genre of music, but it was done tastefully here.
This is definitely a cliched statement, but Gorillaz is definitely something you've gotta listen to a few times in order to really judge, I thought Tarantula was kinda bad but after my third or so relisten I vibe with it. Possession Island didn't really click at first but it's become one of the best off the album, and Tormenta to me scratches that itch I have with reggaeton, where I think the genre sounds cool but every song in that genre is virtually identical, where Tormenta actually makes it sound super unique. Weirdly, my least favorite track was Baby Queen, I don't really enjoy it as much as the others. I'd honestly rank this album an 8 or a 9
